  1. the b1200d really make is easy and it sounds great. you will be amazed
  2. the Sub out on the SS is fullrange and not a HP filter out. You would be getting all the frequencies. Better to feed the SS a filterd signal of everything above about 100 HZ. That way the SS is not having to deal with any low frequencies and is devoting all of its power to the lowmids to highs.
  3. on my unit the fuse area is between the outlet and the power switch, but I have a 115Volt unit
  4. Did the Casino gig last night 85DB max for FOH regulations as I expected the sound man was perplexed and my keys came out great. No feed to FOH and I still got out there fine. stage sound was awesome especially the stereo strings. I used the sub and also did Aspens recommendation on the plexiglass to create a wall since I did not have a wall to use and it reflected the side speaker very nicely
  5. Well gonna do a CASINO gig this weekend!! Ugggg I hate the DB restrictions at these venues, but I am excited to use my spacestation on its own and not go in to the FOH at all. The sound man will be perplexed trying to figure out how to get less keys in the house and realize Im not even plugged in. this should be fun messing with his mind!!
  6. If you used 2 you may have to reverse the phase of the fronts and sides so they were not the same. In other words you would have a stereo front and a stereo side and still a stereo R+L and R-L? looks good on paper but not sure about real life!! Kind of gets you back to the old days of QUAD. Maybe we need a QUAD SSv.4?????
  7. My Nord Stage 2 88 sounds great through it. It was funky at first but I had to retrain my ears and it is good now. I also have a Korg M50 and the AP are great on that too. Maybe just slightly crisper than the Nord, but both sound very acceptable through the SS.
  8. http://www.amazon.com/SKB-Rolling-Powered-wheels-Handle/dp/B000Z2OC2U heres the case that works well
  9. It is the quality that you would expect from China. Nothing bad at all but definitely not at the level of say my Nord which is more hand made individually. Still a nice unit but don't throw it around and a case would be recommended as it may get beat up a bit. I would say that it is well worth 300.00 any day of the week, and you don't have to use it all the time as the SS will work fine without it in the small to medium size venues, however I will say once you do use a sub with the SS you probably will not want to not use a sub with the SS if you know what I mean.
  10. well.... got my sub hooked up and fed the SS only 100khz and above an I must say that it is an incredible combination and I love it!!!!!
  11. I wouldn't do that DL, It is an amazing sound and I know that you would like it just as it is without a sub or any other items. Still a great amp for a great price. nothing like you have ever heard before!!
  12. ok wow I think I may have recreated the sound that you guys are talking about.. man you guys are playing pretty loud. I saturated the box with a mid frequency organ leslie patch from my Nord and really hammered it. If I have some time in the next few days I will put it on my test bench and look at the wave forms that it is producing, my guess is that at this level there is some stray AC waveforms being introduced and that is causing some harsh clipping. I will try to get it on my waveform analyzer and see what it looks like. Aspen my guess is that you have already done this and the SPL is going to calculate out to somewhere above your high limits that are set. Really a great performing amp though as it is. One possibility for the Leslie fans out there night be to beef up the compression on the V4.0 and maybe that will help, but I am sure the price structure may have its limits also.... what a fun design and so many future possibilities for this that I wish I had designed it!! Keep up the great work Aspen!
  13. I like the idea of the individual sub and then feeding the SS with a >100khz signal to not have to burden the SS with the low end and save the power for the mids and the highs. I ordered a B1200d-pro today from sweetwater and will let you know how it sounds
  14. Yeah now that you mention it Bretty it does kind of sound like a wire vibrating on the speaker cone
  15. Mitch I think you need to get a different speaker. I don't think this one is acting correctly listening to your sound cloud. I may be wrong and I am sure there are other people on this site that could help you better but I play the similar type music through mine and it does not sound like that. However I am using a Nord Stage 2 and maybe that is the difference?
  16. Thanks that was what I thought CP, and I agree with maybe a little chorus or something to thicken it up a bit. Thanks for the input
  17. those of you using the nord stage 2 88 I am not hearing a big stereo sound on the AP Grand imperial. Do you know if this is mostly a mono sample? Everything else sounds awesome on the SS and this sounds great too, just not a lot of side separation. Just wanted thoughts from other Nord users. thanks
  18. Hmmmmm my guess is that you are hearing what you are suppose to be hearing now and it has probably always been there. The v.3 is pretty clean and will produce what comes in very well.
