  1. I think 2 would sound really great if they were a ways apart and for side fills!!!
  2. I actually run the B1200 sub and it is nice because it does not send any signals to my SS that are below 100hz, making the SS handle only the higher frequencies and therefore not having to expend its energy reproducing the lower frequencies. That leaves a whole lot of power for 100hz and above and it sounds fantastic!!!!
  3. My opinion is that if you mike the SS using 2 mikes (one for the front driver and one for the side driver) then you will end up with simply a Right and a Left channel which in turn can cancel each other out in the room. The advantage of the SS is that you have a Right + Left from one speaker, say the front driver, and a Right - Left say from the side driver. The only way to maintain this type of waveform technology is to always utilize the circuitry that is in the SS. Therefore.... only being to just let the SS do its thing. IF I remember right the pass through sends on the back of the SS can be used for the FOH, however I do not believe that the signals will be as R+L and R-L... Aspen is this correct? Please correct me if I am not right on this but I believe I remember reading about this a few thousand pages back!
  4. another gig last night went well Large area in a noisy Casino but the SS sounded great... I will have to turn down the Sub though as some of my Korg samples are a little bassie (sp) but that is an easy fix. Same setup tonight and I will try with a little less sub.
  5. Thanks Aspen. Good report. I always have people asking me how much and where do you get it and how long it takes. Its like word of mouth marketing kind of like a good movie. Best marketing there is!!
  6. seems ironic that most of the money is from the performers and not the recorders for this product. just sayin
  7. most commonquestion, "where is the best place to place the speaker" Aspens answer " just place the SS on the floor against a wall or in a corner to extend the LF.
  8. oh right that makes sense. Summed mono is not something that I run into in my application. I run my FOH feed from my small mixer output. I use my SS for mainly my own sound on stage and the FOH is usually just a R or a L but not both a lot of times. I haven't gotten that particular about is especially now since my SS is seeming to fill the room all by itself. the last gig I did I didn't even do a FOH and the keys were fine. I hate to say it but now that I can hear the true stereo on stage I kind of gave up on what everyone else hears. Kind of selfish isn't it. Oh well..... I play now at my age to mainly keep myself happy and that is what is important to me.
  9. I believe the B1200D has a pass thru that can be used as FOH doesn't it? I will have to look again
  10. ok so I got my RIGHT SIDE ONLY deflector set up last night. Worked great. I played in a room that was fairly large and there waa a hallway that went about 50 feet to the north then a sharp right and a large industrial kitchen area. my bass player was in the kitchen trying to find some food(ha) while I was just getting my keys dialed in and I was playing an EP patch with stereo reverb and some stereo delay. He came out of the kitchen and back down the hall and into the room where we were setting up and said" man you should hear that Rhodes in the kitchen it sounds awesome and you can hear the delay like I was in the same room" That is all I needed to hear and the whole night I had a blast and the keys sounded great. I really feel sorry for everyone else that has to play mono the rest of their life. "Disruptive technology at its best"
  11. ok so got my bi-fold analog waveform deflector made out of Plexiglas and will use it tonight to avoid a straight shot of side reference in the bass players ears. Will let you know tomorrow how it works. I made mine high enough to stand on the floor and still be high enough as I set my SS on top of my SUB. I used a piano hinge all along the way to match the height of the Plexiglas. Then painted the hinge area with a black paint that is for plastic. Looks cool and I even stenciled the bands Initials on both sides just in case some drunken bass player doesn't try to run through the clear Plexiglas!!! Ha I guess that comes with experience of playing so long.
  12. I'm still not convinced that we should be refracting the left side. I think just the right side with one wing would be more than enough to do it. But not sure. Maybe Aspen has already tested this theory.
  13. Also getting back to the FAQ idea how about if someone just puts the main theme for each page? Kind of a way to sort????
  14. I have a question.... does the reflector need to be on the left side? I was thinking of concentrating only on deflecting the Right side. Of course I will have to make a V shaped stand alone model if it is not hard connected to the SS, but if I was going to mount it on the side of the SS I was only going to reflect the Right side. Is this correct?
  15. DOES THE TRI FOLD HAVE 3 ACTUAL REFLECTIVE SURFACES THAT THE SOUND WAVES COME IN CONTACT WITH? OR DOES MOST OF THE SOUND ONLY HIT 2 SURFACES? SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS NOT YELLING
  16. I am going to do the plexiglass idea this weekend also and will let you know what I find. mine was just going to be a bi-fold design about 12" taller than the side speaker which sits on top of my Sub. I even envisioned a more type of a faceted design kind of like a cut diamond would have many reflective surfaces. Thinking that that would disperse the should in many directions, but I kind of think that just a simple bi-fold would do fine. Will let you know my results Sunday morning....
  17. Ha good one!! Yes there was FOH but a VERY large stage and that was my point. Sounded great. Sorry for the confusion. Not sure about empty seats, but probably like most other gigs.
  18. I played a 5000 seat venue and the sub really made it nice. I would recommend the Sub for sure!!!
