  1. This a piano piece I wrote.. it's loosely based on "Funeral of Queen Mary". Performed on the Casio PX-5S with some added ambient noise for atmosphere. It's a simple, hypnotic work - Headphones are recommenced to hear the textures. [video:youtube]
  2. Great subject.. One of my favorite composers / performers. His arrangements and voicings are absolutely wonderful. His renditions of "What Child is This?" / "Greensleeves" are just beautiful. [video:youtube] [video:youtube]
  3. Voyage down to the surface of Mars and search for the origins of life with the Curiosity rover and the PX-5S. !Headphones and spacesuit are required! Production Notes: The Stage Setting is a combination of Mike's Ice Castles & Midnight Sun hex layer patches. I edited Ice Castles to take out the raised 5th and made some other small adjustments. A choir and pad melody tone were also added.... All 14 layers on the PX-5S are firing! The eerie sounds you hear during the first 100 seconds are made by actual charged solar particles reacting with the Magnetosphere of Mars, and translated into sound in the human range of hearing. Radio sounds for the first 100 seconds are from actual Curiosity mission control personnel at NASA. Animation is from an 11-minute JPL mission demonstration, painstakingly edited down to 6 minutes using a special time compression technique. Enjoy your voyage to the Red Planet! http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u55/BJ_BOBBI_JO9/July%204th%20patriotic%20and%20military/bth_14_1_27v.gif [video:youtube]

  5. This is an atmosphere piece - headphones are required!
  6. Good stuff, Dennis! To follow up on the other thread, all you need to do to post a song on a Facebook page is paste the URL of the individual song you want into a post. FB will even put a handy SoundCloud player in the post so it can be played right from the page.. Ex: https://soundcloud.com/miden-entertainment/all-of-you Just copy and paste that into a FB post to see what I mean. PM me if you need more help!
  7. I saw that, too. They actually say NOT to use alkaline or carbon batteries in the VR-09. It's funny because in the PX-5S they say use regular batteries - rechargeables are forboden. :idk
  8. I listened to those two and a few others on your SC. Very nice work. I left a comment on Route 12.. there's a spot at 1'12" that is just cool. Enjoyed all of them. Following on SC - hope to hear more.
  9. This one goes out to Craig and Dave: [video:youtube]
  10. Thanks, guys. I really like the way the music and effects go together on some of the "dark rides" at Disney and Universal, so I am modeling the flow and layers to work something like that. Hope to eventually make it into a FPS video game or short 3-d film. And yes, I love my SQ-80 and D-50 - 25 years old and they are still good as new. Of course, the Casio PX-5S is now center stage - and I expect to have that for at least 25 years as well!
  11. Some ear candy... headphones highly recommended. http://forum.onlineconversion.com/images/smilies/music-smiley-004.gif
  12. Taking out all the barbs, I have found this thread very informative. I really enjoy hearing the good, bad and ugly of all gear and the various ways to get around issues. I am in the process of getting of bringing in some new gear, so I appreciate all the different options I am being presented.
  13. Yes in overall music instrument and music instrument accessories sales and the number of staff that work on all of our goodies. I was also thinking along the lines of sales and staff as it relates to the "pro" market... I have a feeling Casio is going to explode in this area given your last two product offerings.
  14. I've been thinking about this (bolded) statement since you made it, Dave. I decided to do some research. According to Wikipedia Casio: 11,336 employees, $4.616 billion revenue (2010) Roland: 2,699 employees (2010) According to their corporate info pages (and I hope I'm comparing apples to apples here) Casio: ¥48,592 million capital, ¥301,660 million net sales Roland: ¥9,274 million capital, ¥74,825 million sales Overall, Roland is a much smaller company. That said, I don't know how Casio's EMI division compares to Roland. That would tell how much of Casio is in this business vs. all of Roland. I'm sure Mike could shed some light on this (if he can disclose that), but I have a feeling Casio's EMI division is far smaller than Roland.. but that may very well change in the future. This site has a few stats... http://www.musictrades.com/global.html
