  1. I'm looking at it as a top board sitting above my SV1 or MOX8. Right now I have been using either my Juno D or XW-P1 as a top board. I had been looking at an SK1 but have hesitated because of the price and not knowing what other sounds are on it. Its hard to find one around this area. I am quite confident this will be in either Sam Ash or Guitar Center as soon as it ships. This looks like its just what I have been looking for.
  2. I have the same question? If I'm layering another sound with the organ am I really going to care about using a vent? It seems to me that I would want to use it where organ is my only sound. If you really want to layer it with another sound there is always midi.
  3. I think the other advantage is the drawbar organ. That really does differentiate it from the pack of $1k & under boards. I think they saw the buzz over CASIO's XW-P1 last year and decided people still really want drawbars.
  4. Hey I used the D-Beam on my Juno-D at least twice! The big question is "did they improve their leslie sim?" I've seen a couple of videos but they really don't highlight enough for me to tell. I'm looking forward to demo one.
  5. I agree with the sentiment. Its not a Hammond or Nord killer, its not meant to be. But for a guy who plays $75 - $125 a night gigs and wants a second tier board or a small lightweight all in one this is right up their alley. The fact they added a looper to it says to me the target is not a guy with with "Green Onions", "Whiter Shade of Pale", and anything by Booker T or Billy Preston on their set lists. I have been contemplating getting an SK-1, this does give the cheap bastard in me pause.
  6. I missed the GM2 Soundset in the specs I was just about to delete the post.
  7. The only missing it looks like is horns. Yes, I hate having to do a horn part. But it is often asked of me. This would be a nice board to compliment my SV-1. Update: missed the GM2 sounds, never mind
  8. I had a guy walk up and say he was a manager for several big names and he would like to promote us. I recognized him as a cook in the local Waffle House!
  9. Agreed, it would make an excellent Keyboard article. Well done
  10. A Little 10-year-old girl was walking home, alone, from school one day, when a big man on a black motorcycle pulls up beside her. After following along for a while, turns to her and asks, "Hey there, do you want to go for a ride?" "NO!" says the little girl as she keeps on walking. The motorcyclist again pulls up beside her and asks, " I will give you $10 if you hop on the back." "NO!" says the little girl as she hurries down the street. The motorcyclist pulls up beside the little girl again and says, "I'm feeling generous today! I'll give you 20 Bucks "and" a Big Bag of Candy if you will just hop on the back of my bike and go for a ride with me." Finally, the little girl stops and turns towards him and Calmly says..... "Look Dad, You're the one who bought the Honda instead of the Harley"! So ride it by yourself!
  11. I've done only a couple gigs with mine. But it is perfectly usable and I love the sound and feel of the acoustic piano. The organ sounds aren't great. I used my Juno D for organ instead. I have a Roland Sonic Cell so I could setup a registration or two that use that. I haven't tried using it as a controller but plan to try it this weekend. I only have a couple minor complaints. The buttons on a dark stage are almost invisible! And the drum machine buttons are right next to the volume wheel. I accidentally hit it once mid song! Really embarrassing!
