I love my new Krumar D9x, but how to mount it?

What is the Gemini Module? -
Just received this and I love it. Works beautifully. Just one problem- there is no surface area on my midi keyboard which is large enough to place it. So I've come up with a MacGyver solution but I'm open to suggestions. It may not be clear what I've done in the photos but basically I clamped an OnStage iPad holder onto the tubing of a mic stand. I then clamped the D9x to the surface of the holder (where I would normally place my iPad). Then I placed the iPad holder in horizontal position with as little extension in the holder arm as possible. I found that because the holder is designed for iPads not D9x units, I needed to set the D9x on a piece of non-skid shelf liner (the white stuff) to ensure that the frame securely grabbed the D9x. Because the D9x is all metal construction, it's heavier than I thought it would be. To minimize wobble, I butted the mic stand tube against the back of my Nektar keyboard, then applied gaffer tape. The current setup is placed where I need it (needs to be at left end of keyboard). I can live with this setup (I will get some black shelf liner to replace the white), but I'm open to other ideas. I looked at various trays sold by K&M (I have an 18820 stand) but none of them would allow placement of where I need the DX9 to be.

I ordered this. Looks very stable but the clamp is for a tube rather than a rectangular bar. That was a non starter for me so I'm returning it for a refund. -
suggestions for iPad holder, using K&M stand

We'll see how well it works for me over the longer term. So far, so good. I realized right away that I needed to designate a specific place to keep the allen wrench, which will be in the small front pocket of my gear bag. I will probably carry a second one for security. The way I have my iPad set up, the bottom edge leans against the top back of the upper keyboard- so sagging shouldn't be a problem. I just couldn't get the placement and angle for the iPad the way I want it with a less "maneuverable" holder. Haven't gigged with it yet so like I said, we'll see. -

And the winner is: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09KC46XNJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 Decent quality. Very adjustable. I attached the clamp to the 2nd tier base cross bar. Holds my 12.9, very stable. Hinge points are tightened with a 4mm Allen wrench. -
I use the Nektar GXP 88. Not bad at all for a semi-wieghted touch. Only drawback for me is there are so few assignable knobs. In fact, the mod wheel is the only really useful one. That said, I'm considering getting a control surface such as the StudioLogic Mixface or the Korg Nano Studio. I have a NanoKontroller 2, but the layout is too compact and the sliders and knobs are "fiddly". Either option Mixface or NanoStudio would hang over the back of the keyboard by about 2 1/2 inches, so I guess i'd have to attach with velcro. Any other options out there? I do like the layout and size of the Mixface interface better, but I don't have either one to actually lay my hands on

Wish there was a size that would handle the iPad Pro 12.9 -
I've just purchased the 18820 table stand with 2nd tier attachments. I'd like an iPad holder which I can attach to the end of each 2nd tier arm(see photo). I'd like to avoid multiple mic stands, and keep my iPads attached to the keyboard stand. I have a 10" and a 12.9" iPad. Suggestions?

Anybody loving the D9X drawbar controller?
LeesKeys replied to Baldwin Funster's topic in The Keyboard Corner
Where does it sit in your set up? I'm using a Nektar GXP61 on my top tier for organ sounds. There's no "blank" space at either end of the keyboard to place it. -
difference between keybed on Kurzweil PC4 88 and K2700?
LeesKeys replied to LeesKeys's topic in The Keyboard Corner
If I was going to use the keyboard at home only, I would have gone with the 2700. But alas, weight does matter. -

gigging with a heavy keyboard- your thoughts?

I think what I may do if I purchase the PC4 88 is to use it on the bottom rack (especially for pianos), and use my iPad to power my Roland 49 on the top rack for organs and some synth sounds- all routed through Camelot Pro -

So you're using a soft case. Does it have wheels, are you carrying it with a strap over your shoulder, or using a cart to move the keyboard? -

Been there too, done that too. I've been using midi controllers and IOS software for a while and will be integrating that into the new workstation setup. -

All great responses. Thank you. Reezekeys, you are right. I don't really NEED those extra features of the 2700. And Ibarch- so true, 99%+ of the listeners (maybe even including me) would not recognize any difference in sound quality. -
I'm planning to purchase a new workstation and have narrowed it down to two Kurzweil products- the PC 4 88, and the K2700. Going by features, the 2700 would be my choice, except for one issue- the weight. At 52 lbs, this would be a bear for me to transport, especially considering that some of my gigs are solo. The PC4, on the other hand, weighs almost half at 28 lobs. I'm wondering what you think about the weight issue. Anyone gigging with heavy keyboards? Hate that the weight factor is going to be the final deciding point in my purchase.

Just talked to my rep at Sweetwater. These items are backordered with K&M and it could be months before I receive them! Glad I have an X stand I can use in the meantime.

Interesting- kind of a Spider Pro, but for lighter weight keyboards. Looks like it's available through Amazon for $274. Depending on where I look, I'm seeing different numbers for the weight of the stand -anywhere from 3.7 kg (8lbs) to 8 kg (18 lbs). Which do you think is more accurate?

Here's what I need: 2 tier stand that can be assembled/disassembled in 10 minutes or less for gigging Heavy duty stand not needed: I'm using 2 midi controllers which weigh around 18 lbs each. Open floor space- in other words, not an X stand. Prefer that height of top tier is adjustable Overall heigh adjustment suitable for standing or sitting (I'm 5' 10") I've owned the K&M Spider Pro in the past. Too heavy and like I said my keyboards and lightweight. Also X stands- I want more leg/foot room. I've been looking at the Rockville Z45w- https://www.amazon.com/Rockville-Z45W-Z-Style-Keyboard-Adjustable/dp/B0BR8Q5215/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=rockville%2Bkeyboard%2Bstand&sr=8-5&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.18ed3cb5-28d5-4975-8bc7-93deae8f9840&th=1 Liquid Stands- https://www.amazon.com/Liquid-Stands-Piano-Keyboard-Stand/dp/B0C7WM9GSH/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=rockville+keyboard+stand&sr=8-1-spons&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.18ed3cb5-28d5-4975-8bc7-93deae8f9840&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1#customerReviews and this Griffin model- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004THB8OW/ref=sspa_dk_detail_4?psc=1&s=home-garden&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9kZXRhaWxfdGhlbWF0aWM#customerReviews Thoughts?

i understand this is available in kit form. Has anyone purchased and assembled the kit? Difficulty level? I can't find any source online for purchasing the kit version, or pricing information. I live in the U.S.
