  1. The flexibility here is what is great. As an example, a common setup for me for doing webinars is to direct monitor the keyboard, but have the direct monitor off for my own microphone. I don't want to hear myself talk LOL.
  2. @KuruPrionz This video thoroughly covers the monitoring options and more. Trim settings are also on the software.
  3. So my TC Electronic Studio Konnekt 48 finally needed replaced. I've been spoiled by the features of this interface so finding a worthy replacement hasn't been easy. I moved up to the Monterey OS now and that was the final thing that bricked the TC Electronic Konnekt 48. My needs have been this: Lots of line inputs for numerous keyboards A minimum of 2 front panel mic inputs Ideally ADAT I/O (for expansion or for continuing to utilizing my TC Konnekt 48 - more on that later) What I wanted: Monitor volume remote control - I've been spoiled by the remote on the TC What I looked at - Probably my first choice was the Presonus Quantum 26x32. This is a great interface. I know friends that have it, the performance is amazing, I know it sounds great too. Price was a little high for my budget. I was also concerned about Thunderbolt only (for occasional older laptop use) as opposed to USB. I also looked at a Behringer UMC1820. Hard to ignore the price - reviews are quite good. Reliability with Monterey was unclear. Then I found the Audient EVO16. Price was better than alright given the features. In terms of I/O it checked all the boxes and all the reviews I read of their other interfaces were stellar. There were a couple of features that were very attractive, specifically the internal routing / mixer. The overall design of the product looked stellar too. The UI is very slick so I decided to give it a shot. Installation was a breeze. I was up and running right away on Mac OS 12.5. The EVO16 does have software that can help you configure stereo pairing and more. Phantom is selectable per channel. Monitor mixing per channel. All of these things can be done from the front panel interface but Here is a look at the analog input section in software: One of the "I'm sold' features for me is the routing section. The allowed me to take the main mix from the Audient and route it digitally to my TC Studio Konnekt 48. Why would I want to do that? Well for 10 years I've had a monitor volume level just in reach to my right. Reaching across my desk to adjust listening level isn't a big deal but as long as my TC works stand-alone, I'd like to continue to have this luxury. I'll talk about sound, performance and some of the other unique features of this EVO16 in part 2. Let me know if you have any questions.
  4. I have it on good authority that the proper chord is this. I have a good stretch but it is not easy to play. Larry Dunn's hands are bigger than mine.
  5. No the separate MIDI Controller Mode can't be saved as a registration. Using the method I described above would likely work best.
  6. I don't think so but I'll confirm tonight when I have some time. I wouldn't use tone level in case that is sent via MIDI. I'd do something like a DSP edit and set the output volume to zero.
  7. While scrolling through tones if you press -/+ simultaneously that returns you to piano. I personally have it set up as the first registration as well.
  8. Yes unfortunately that is the case. The button can't control the rotary speaker effect. It has to be done from the one of the knobs. I'll upload some pre-programmed ones for you asap.
  9. A clean / dry Clavinet sounds somewhere between a harpsichord and an acoustic guitar - obviously with a different attack. The examples above are clearly going through a way pedal and a guitar amp.
  10. Here is Michelle and the Bob Moog Foundation team with your Liberation.
  11. Click the link to the site - https://www.steinberg.net/vst-live/ It comes with Padshop 2, Retrologue and HALion Sonic SE 3 (a 30gig Library). Padshop 2 is $129 so almost worth buying just for that.
  12. Been wondering when they'd do this. Cross platform Mac and Windows. $99 introduction price for the PRO version (normally $129). $59 for the Elements version - seems to be identical except it does not have DMX Lighting control found in the Pro version. More details here: https://www.steinberg.net/vst-live/
  13. Dave, The Andromeda was so far ahead of its time. It was and is simply brilliant. Looking back it is clear, but at the time my vision was clouded by samplers and more polyphony. I'm so upset at myself or not buying one when I had the chance. Imagine if it was released today (with better effects).
  14. @BenWaB3 To be clear, you using the USB-MIDI input? Since the CT-S500 only has USB MIDI, that requires a host - a computer or other type of interface to go between. A direct cable connection is not possible.
  15. Consider the Sigma 105mm f/1.4 It is simply an amazing lens. Without question the sharpest lens I have. The 135L can be purchased for a lot less $800 used if not less but it is also a 1996 design. I believe it might have been a touch soft on a higher resolution camera like my R5 which is why I saved for the Sigma and I haven't been disappointed although the weight is hard to handle.
  16. I'm so discouraged by Instagram - video only posts in my feed. So I've been posting more photos to Twitter. There is a great community there and photos look great when posted there too.
  17. I like the wood finish. It has been great, and held up really well (I haven't scratched it up yet).
  18. Outstanding performance and great example. Unfortunately I have a difficult time with the Wurly sound, I find it so distracting because the tremolo is so fast.
  19. A used Casio XW-P1 and an expression pedal USB adapter. EDIT - sorry these have gone way up in price. 😮
  20. I recently got Wavestate Native. What a ridiculously deep synthesizer! Loving it so far.
  21. @pjd Thanks for all of the incredible resources you have created. I see that you had a few questions for Casio in your blog. I'll do my best to get back to you and answer those as soon as possible.
  22. Off the top of my head... First it has all the new CT-S1 sounds which include CP-electric grands, string machines, mellotron flutes, OBX brass, vibraphones, the "Classic Casio" sounds and more. In addition to those there are also a ton of new guitars, other synths.
  23. If you like ambient electronic, my friend David Helpling's new album called IN just dropped today. The third track among others is amazing. Link to his album on all platforms: https://orcd.co/helpling-in
  24. Actually no, the CT-S500 has all majority of sounds of the CT-X5000 but the CT-S500 has many newly developed sounds that you won't find in the CT-X5000. The advantage of the CT-X5000 is the arranger functionality and the speaker system.
