  1. Hillsong and Planetshakers are both from Australia. Both are leading edge in contemporary worship music and many US churches use their material.
  2. Suggest you check out Planetshakers (available on Spotify and youtube). Lots of influences there: synth pop, EDM, soaring synth leads and synth bass and nice guitar work. Very slick production and very good lyrical content for the genre. Definitely aimed at a younger crowd but I like it a lot. Some of it offers a very fresh approach. [video:youtube]
  3. Enjoyed this track as well as the others on your Soundcloud profile. Like the message and the music!!
  4. Aspen, Sounds like your design needs the industry to define a new way to measure SPL. Would it be fair to say that your designs wider dispersion creates more sound energy? P.S. I appreciate your invention, business acumen and attention to the details as demonstrated by your involvement on this forum. Keep up the good work and I hope you reap the benefits! Greg
  5. Studio monitors for home if you're interested in more critical listening. I played at home for many years using home stereo speakers. Figured all these people using studio monitors were full of crap and had too much money to spend. I was wrong. Studio monitors are a great investment if you really want to hear what your gear can do.
  6. Logistically yes. Financially no. I'm sure this would not be a $599 product solely made in the U.S. Greg
  7. Your wish is my command... https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-hTKC2eWBMjM/VAtzGso-BkI/AAAAAAAAAWk/Lg508ezzADU/w800-h450-no/IMG_20140719_115928195_HDR.jpg https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-8iUrVnhKarg/VAtzPMgICtI/AAAAAAAAAWs/ME-yYyrJhkg/w800-h445-no/IMG_20140720_135456387.jpg https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-VM7BdDfHN1g/VAtzTp8Si2I/AAAAAAAAAW0/KRBQlwzcsb4/w800-h450-no/IMG_20140720_135557775.jpg Here is my high tech transport system with the FA06 on the bottom of the case wrapped in a towel: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-AD4PSoaS4ys/VAtzbjyOJ4I/AAAAAAAAAW8/qQ-3u3T-LCM/w800-h445-no/IMG_20140719_144516752.jpg Here it is at a gig: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-D0pKOwLBKE4/VAtxSuBMJMI/AAAAAAAAAWc/sk9BoETetaI/w800-h450-no/IMG_20140725_220209011.jpg This is basically a prototype. The top piece is a leftover piece of scrap. I'll probably spring for another sheet of ply and make that top piece wider. I'm also using 1/4" oak for the sides and back. It's actually pretty strong because of the inside glued and nailgunned bracing. I might glue another piece of something on each end just to make it look thicker. If you look closely you'll see the top piece slides back and forth depending if I want the SK1 keys to be directly above the FA06 keys or if I need access to the FA's controls. I also took Tonysounds' very good advice and created a cable snake and pedal board. All the stuff on the floor is velcro'd to the board and the whole thing fits into another old 36" keyboard bag I've had laying around for years. I can carry the wood case with the FA in it back and forth to the car and the SK1 is in it's own soft case. The last gig I actually beat the drummer out the door for the first time ever. About 20 minutes for a complete tear down and on the road. As for the weight it's nothing. Maybe 15 pounds at the most. I also have both power supplies inside the case against the back and they stay there for transport. I just put a small towel between the back of the FA and the power supplies. Like I said this is just a prototype, there's lots of little things I would do differently if I decide to build another one or modify this one. One thing I will do is build a separate base for it and not use the stand in these pics. Bob Looks a whole lot like a Rhodes Chroma. http://www.failedmuso.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Rhodes_Chroma_BR-e1356301815812.jpg
  8. How in the world do you keep up with what sound/sample/snippet is under each pad??
  9. David, Thought from a previous thread the Krome was going to replace the MOX?? Just curious about your thoughts. Greg
  10. Based upon my experience with the Motif and CP instrument series, here's what I think you're going to find. 1) The CP4 will offer the best piano-playing/sound experience. On previous models in the CP series, piano's were primary and other sounds were a distant secondary. This seems to be a marketing strategy. It kind of makes sense. If the CP4 had a Motif under the hood, they probably wouldn't sell any 88 key Motif's. 2) The MOXF is the only workstation of the three boards you're considering. It will offer the greatest breadth/variety of sounds and would be a great choice if you want to sequence songs on it. 3) The PX5S offers a very good piano playing/sound experience but it won't be as good as the CP4. In general, the non-piano sounds won't be as good as those on the MOXF. It does offer some great layered/arps that are quite unique. 256 note polyphony is very cool but probably doesn't matter for how you'll use the instrument. I think they are all very good instruments. It's just a matter of what specific area you're focused upon and how much money you want to spend. My .02. Good luck. Greg
  11. If the $$ are anything close going from the 5 to the 4, I'd wait for the 4.
  12. No kidding? I always regretted not getting a polysix, but lack of sustain would have been a serious disappointment. I guess I don't regret it so much, now. No kidding!! I read the story somewhere not terribly long ago from one of the American engineers involved in the project. They had a list of 10 or so things they wanted to include (one of them the sustain pedal) and the head cheese from Korg in Japan slashed through nearly everything on the list. Sustain pedal didn't survive. Hard to believe but true.
  13. I don't agree. Actually, I think they're pretty good -- definitely superior to what's in the CP33 and P series. Yikes! My problem is the radical velocity switching between samples. I feel like Yamaha just said "yeah, those will be good enough". The CP300 AP is so playable. Doesn't make sense for a 'Stage Piano' to not have primo EP's too.
  14. Here's a few good ones: Korg Polysix- no sustain pedal input Yamaha Motif ES- compact flash card nearly obsolete when product came to market Kurzweil PC3- xD card (required for OS updates) nearly obsolete when product came to market/no USB memory support Yamaha CP300- abysmal EP's It does seem odd that the CP4 may have less controller functionality than the CP5 but as AnotherScott said there'll be time to complain after we see the real feature set. Greg
  15. For every person like us that posts on these forums, there's probably hundreds that don't. I'm sure most of those folks won't be interested in plugging their $999 keyboard into a $450 Vent. Don't get me wrong, I own a Vent and love it, and it will make any workstation organ much better but most of the buyers of this board won't spend the money on a Vent. It just comes down to dollars and cents for most players that are weekend warriors, hobbyists, church players, etc. It won't matter to them about most of the concerns in this thread. I think it's a pretty cool keyboard and I bet they'll sell a whole bunch of them. Greg
