  1. oops, I posted before I realized you had posted a vid of yourself playing it....very nicely done!
  2. patchogue, LI checking in... To my ears, the bit starting around.48 would be the hardest to figure out. The texture in the lower range gets a bit thick.
  3. You're right, of course, I just havent had a moment to make room and download the new samples. I will eventually, just wanted to see if anyone had any opinions based on experience.
  4. I have the Electro 5D which supports the new enhanced EP samples, but not the new filters. I'm wondering if anyone has tried them without the filters, and if they're worth the extra space they require. Thanks
  5. I have the 5d also. So the C2D has the same keybed and springs as the 5d? That's too bad. I can't say for sure if they're the same as i've never played the C2D, i'm making an educated guess that may be incorrect.
  6. I have the electro 5D and my understanding is that it is the same, waterfall, keybed as the C2D. The electro HP models have a hammer action.
  7. @EricBarker, I dig the B5 and Melda Rotary combo as well. I find that the Melda isn't too CPU hungry but the B5 seems to be the culprit for me. I really liked VB3 v1, haven't tried V2.
  8. One huge advantage that I found with GP is that you have a separate screen for each Rack (patch). With Mainstage i found myself crowding my screen with drawbars, switches, faders, etc....and then running out of real estate. With GP you can have pretty much endless controls.
  9. I upgraded to GP3 as well. I haven't tried any of the new features yet; the setlist feature looks cool but I have to see how I can make it work in my situation. We play almost all original material and rarely stick to a set list. @nursers, i totally agree with @escaperocks, it runs quite a bit leaner than mainstage. I also have found it to be a lot easier to set up and get it to where you want it to be than I did with mainstage.
  10. It's hard to quantify, but i'd say it's MUCH better than the logic rhodes. Sounds better, responds to touch better, just better all around. I have quite a few Rhodes libraries at this point and I'd say they're all quite a bit better than the logic one. My list, from best to "least best". I hate to say worst because theyre all pretty good. I have the first 3 on my list all loaded up in Gigperformer, as I like each one for different reasons. Scarbee EX88 Canterbury Suitcase AS V Tines Scarbee Vintage Keys Pianoteq Mk 1 and 2
  11. The more I use it, the more I'm liking it. But I'm still leaning more on Scarbee 88 and Canterbury.
  12. Forgot to mention that I didn't have the best monitoring situation at my gig, so I wasn't hearing myself nearly as well as I would have liked. I'll update my review after I have a more optimal experience.
  13. I used VTines at a gig this past saturday night. I didn't do a whole lot of tweaking and I run (in Gigperformer) all of my EPs trough Amplitude (fender twin) so I can't comment fully on the library since i ran it dry, with 3rd party effects, etc. I can say that it's very bright and "bell-y" out of the gate so you may need to do some editing if that's not your bag. It responded really well to my playing ( I run at a 128 buffer). I also use Canterbury and Scarbee EX 88. I don't see myself retiring either of those but I like the V Tines enough that it's definitely going to be added to my gigs.
  14. I just bought V Tines. Hopefully will give it a test run tonight. I love Canterbury and SCarbee 88 but options are good. +1 for gigperformer.
  15. I agree, not the sound i'd normally go for but I love their Wurly so much that I feel like I may need to explore this further.
  16. I got the same email today, as well. Between the Canterbury Suitcase and the Scarb EX 88 I really didn't think I'd need another Rhodes library. But based on how incredible the Achousticsamples Wurli is, I'll probably end up getting this. I had the same thought about the brightness, but agree, I'm sure that can be tweaked.
  17. Is anyone else having trouble mapping the drawbars to their onscreen controls in either Gigperfomer or Mainstage?
  18. Is the B Scanner a big improvement over the built in effects in VB3, B5 etc?
  19. ive had the same experience. I use Lotary with vb3 when I'm just using organ. Any patch that has an organ split, I use Melda which I got on sale recently.
  20. Cool news, I have both B5 and VB3 so I'd love to use both.
  21. Muffled is the perfect word! I like B5 but, like you, I find there's something that I just cant put my finger on. I always come back to VB3. Also, I found that B5 taxed my CPU in Mainstage more than VB3. I know a lot of people prefer B5 so I'm always curious to hear other opinions.
