  1. Hi. Any Hammond SKPro users who used IK Multimedia Hammond B3-X app on iPad? Or for that matter any Synth APP on an iPad with an SKPro. I can't get the iPad to recognise the SKPro. Connecting by Apple Lighting to USB camera adapter and using a Yamaha Bluetooth BT01 to the SKPro. Seems to be a MIDI send and receive problem between SKPro and iPad.Have connected Midi Wrench to SK Pro and no midi messages received. Under System settings on the SKPro and MIDI can someone point me in the the right direction to configure the SKPro to communicate with the iPad. i.e ON SKPRO Menu--Template settings,General and Channel pages. Any help most appreciated. Not sure what I'm missing. Regards Marc
  2. percussion 4 tabs C/V on/off, both upper and lower C/V selections V1 through C3 Overdrive key click cross talk I control all of these in my Gemini module through midi, in addition to leslie on/off, slow/stop/fast. Part of the reason is that some of the characteristics sound different depending on whether I use the Vent or Burn as the leslie simulator. The vent emphasizes the key click differently than the Burn, as an example. So if it is over-emphasized I have the ability to quickly make the adjustment. Hi Dave, Thanks for your help and advice. If I could edit all of your above CV, Overdrive, key click etc from my Hammond SKPro in the B3-X I'd be " In B3,A100 Heaven". I will keep looking into the problems. I really think B3-X is right up there with the SKPro in relation to Hammond sounds, Leslie Sim etc and it's a hell of a lot easier ( and cheaper) for a once B3 player to call up, edit and store a preset sound than the SKPro which I am finding has a steep learning curve. IMHO. I love this forum. SO MANY HELPFUL and KNOWLEDABLE PEOPLE! Regards
  3. Hi Stokely. Thanks for the help and suggestions.I have checked Midi channel and "Gear" settings in advanced settings on B3-X and selected Hammond SK profile. B3-X seen when using my MacBook Pro but not when using iPad version??? I'll try reconnecting as you advised. I really think B3-X is up there with the SKPro in relation to Hammond sounds, Leslie Sim etc and it's a hell of a lot easier for a once B3 player to call up, edit and store a preset sound than the SKPro which I am finding has a steep learning curve. IMHO. I'll keep trying to sortie out but it's frustrating and no help so far from IK Multimedia. regards
  4. Hi Stokely. Thanks for your reply and expertise. This syses thing is a bit beyond me. I, until B3-X have always been a hardware guy with keyboards. But I need to get up to speed with software and technology. Regards
  5. Hi kwyn. I really think B3-X is up there with the SKPro in relation to Hammond sounds, Leslie Sim etc and it's a hell of a lot easier for a once B3 player to call up, edit and store a preset sound than the SKPro which I am finding has a steep learning curve. IMHO regards
  6. Thanks Another Scott .Hopefully IK will take a look at this especially seeing they partnered the B3-X with Hammond.
  7. Thanks. No, done that Hammond SK profile on.
  8. Thanks for the reply. That"s a bummer, you"d think that could be implemented in profile with Hammond and B3-X by IK.
  9. Hi all, I recently purchased IK Multimedia's Hammond B3-X ( both Mac and iPad version) for use with my Hammond SKPro to compare the sound using a VST versus the SKPro. Yes, I know I suffer from GAS like many keys players and members of this forum . BUT :cool:What else to do after 12 weeks in lockdown in Sydney Australia with Covid 19?!! Love this forum for keyboard info, reviews and general help and opinions. I have 2 Questions re using this setup if any members of this forum can help:- 1.Using an Apple lightning to USB camera adapter from IPad to Hammond SKPro and selecting the Hammond SK Hammond profile in advanced settings on B3-X -NO response from keyboard to the iPad app? Can any users of this setup offer any help as to what I have missed or doing wrong? 2.When using a MacBook Pro with B3-X loaded connected to the Hammond SKPro via USB- Drawbars, Leslie, Exp controls are mapped successfully BUT having trouble mapping Perc, CV etc using the midi learn function on the B3-X?? Again what am I missing or doing wrong? Any advice with connection and set up would be most appreciated as I have had no response from IK Multimedia support. Regards Marc
  10. Hi Fuster and other interested Kurzweil PC4 users, reviewers Thanks for your post and thoughts on the PC4 and comparisons to Yamaha MODX.. I also used to own an MODX8 and like you I liked the board and sounds ,but didn"t find the action suited me. I then purchased a Roland RD2000 which I do like the action on .I love the ability of its 8 zones for layer and split usage for 'multi-sounds iperformance ' and its sounds generally but as an older player who gigs regularly find it too heavy and cumbersome to lug. I am interested if you did in fact purchase a Kurzweil PC4 what you think of it having travelled down much the same road as I have.We are all searching for 'the ultimate one board for gigs' ( dream on Yes- I know in an ideal world scenario!? )especially older players, small stages and performance areas and quick and easy setups. I say this even though I own quite a few keyboards current and vintage ( Legend organ, Rhodes,Wurly, Nord electro, Modx7 ....). Sometimes the gig just requires for a variety of reasons just one keyboard. Any comments and opinions would be most appreciated. Regards and greetings from 'Downunder' Australia. ð¶ ð¹ð
  11. Hi all. I am contemplating buying a Kurzweil PC4.I currently own a Roland RD2000 which I love the ability of 8 zones, faders and being able to mix either eight internal or a combination internal and external sounds with either another synth or main stage.BUT as an older musician when gigging and lugging find it way too heavy to lift and transport. Anyone gone down this path prior to getting a PC4? Is the PC4 with it"s sliders and multi setup able to do much the same thing, comparable sounds and a more lightweight and easier to transport gigging keyboard? How does action on PC4 compare to RD2000? Any comments, advice and feedback would be most appreciatedðð»ð¹ð¶
  12. Hi, Recently purchased a MODX8 and also own a MOXF8. Loving the sounds and capabilities of this keyboard and it's LIGHTWEIGHT. BUT Still having problems following the transfer/migration of Performances from MOXF to MODX format despite a reply from Bad Mister. Please excuse my lack of tech knowledge as I am having trouble with "a new learning curve on a new instrument"- BUT I am an avid user /owner of Yamaha keyboards from DX& and CP70 days in the 80s:( Basically in the majority of my performances on the MOXF I have usually use 3-4 voices spread about the keyboard some "voices" layered and others split using MOFX terminology. E.g a Typical MOXF performance I used for various specific songs ( where limited to 4 parts/voices) using Part 1:- Acoustic Piano, Part 2:-a favourite Rhodes or Wurlie sound , Part 3:- a Hammond B3 sound, Part 4:- Brass/ Strings or Synth If I was constructing a similar Performance on the MODX 1. Am I limited to 4 Parts as was in the case with the Moxf ? Or More on the MODX? 2. Can you please explain how to setup a similar performance as per above example on the MODX with step by step instructions? 3. I basically want to use the 4 sliders on the MODX to control volumes of my 4 parts ( or more parts if I am able to on the MODX and use parts 5-8) as per above example - piano, rhodes, organ, brass/strings/synth for realtime mixing within a song sections e.g Verse, chorus etc in a live band performance 4.If I want to use e.g the better quality MODX CFX Pop/Rock piano to replace Studio Grand from Mofx as the CFX Pop/Rock piano has 3 active parts/elements 1,2 and 4 how does this relate or work with what I have been doing live on my Moxf? And how do I add the other 3 or more parts that I may require Rhodes,Organ , brass/strings PS.I also own a Roland RD2000 keyboard and have created similar Song Performance set ups with it using sliders 1-8 controlling a combination of Internal and external sounds BUT find this keyboard too heavy and wide for many many stage setups and purchased the Yamaha MODX as a more lightweight master keyboard. Hopefully someone out there doing the same thing ( with more technical knowledge than me) and upgrading to the MODX from MOXF can understand my questions and any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Mark
