  1. We have a Wal sighting: http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/msg/986186874.html
  2. I bow to Erik's unassailable logic. More appropriately (also sounds more professional): The English Taint Punch
  3. The New Originals My two other favourites would be the Thamesmen or the Lovely Lads.
  4. I just picked up a Strat from Rondo Music to do some recording...will be here next week.
  5. Saw AC/DC at the Garden last night. Those guys still got it
  6. This bass gave me a chuckle. The only control is an on/off switch New angle of the Wal, didn't think anyone would notice eh?
  7. http://www.briantimpe.com/images/LDL/avatarhotness.jpg That's just sexy wood right there. I can't get enough of it.
  8. I received the new BP 20th aniv. mag over the weekend. Havent had a chance to look at it yet, but it looks like a good one (not like I've read bad ones in the past )
  9. http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n406/mali_prst/Bass%20gitara/15string.jpg Just think about it.
  10. Did some camping in upstate New York a couple of weekends back, the Catskills region. This city boy got outdoorsy for a few days and it wasn't that bad! Someone actually had some instruments, so here are some pics of the impromptu jam: http://a313.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/106/l_f72c8fef3f3b814c48b44a99a047c068.jpg Bass and banjo jam. I believe I was using one of those Ibanez starter basses. The action was insanely high, at least half an inch... http://a679.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/25/l_c5eff172d06750077c7b345f40cb268e.jpg Actually had a little 15 watt amp powered by the pickup's battery. http://a346.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/15/l_cbd4ce7812f3278afef2c2874c2f0619.jpg Depsite my serious demeanor, I was having fun!
  11. Went to the 51st annual Steuben Day Parade in NYC on Saturday, it was a blast. Consumed more than my share of Hofbrau Munchen, "The Original Brew of Bavarian Kings". Here's a short video on NY1 News of the event where I made a small cameo. On the third interview, I'm the one with my back turned to the camera http://www.ny1news.com/Default.aspx?ArID=86065
  12. Yes, and it doesn't look like it's getting better anytime soon. Times are so tough, I might only buy one bass this year. Thank God for civil service
  13. New spin on a summer job... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7532050.stm
  14. Bummer... I had my car window smashed tonight while I was in Guitar Center in Queens by some malcontent. My bag was stolen which contained my work cell, a few ID cards, and some paperwork. Being a gov't employee, these items are considered somewhat 'sensitive', so I "have some 'splanin to do" when I report in tomorrow. Moral of the story: Don't shop at Guitar Center. Ever.
  15. I saw Tony Levin last night playing a show with Liquid Tension Experiment at BB Kings Blues Club in Times Square. That man just kills on the Stick. His Stingray sounded amazing as well. I believe he was playing an Ampeg head (not sure of the model, it looked vintage )through an SWR 410.
  16. Very nice Phil, that ABG sounds fantastic I've also clicked around and watched some of the London Lowdown Jams as well; there were a nice collection of fish present, and they sounded just as good as they looked (it might of had a little bit to do with the players )
  17. I went to a new studio with the band and played through an Ashdown MAG rig (600 head, 4x10 cab). Being that it is on the cheaper side, I was not expecting it to be heaven on earth, but it did sound really good. I thought it suffered a bit on the lows, but simple EQ and hand positioning changed that in a jiffy. So, to all you lurkers out there looking for an inexpensive rig, try out the MAG series, well worth it in my book (not that I have a book...)
  18. At least you would have your tonsils...er, health.
  19. I saw Iron Maiden again last night at MSG (that's Madison Square Garden for the lay person). During the middle of a song, the PA cut out; guitars, vox, drums, the whole bit. Dickinson went backstage and grabbed a soccer ball and started playing a little 2 on 2 until the power was restored, totalling about 8-12 minutes of sports entertainment. Interesting.
