  1. I have never had a problem with the polyphony running out of notes and Ralph gives a demo of constantly playing notes over and over again and I could not tell of any notes dropping out .
  2. I have the S3 and I think the vivo piano sound is mediocore ,and I almost got rid of it for that reason and also the action is not that great ,but I got my nephew to load the Japanese platinum piano sound on it and that is one of my favorite piano sounds , I also have the RD 2000 and the Kawi MP 11 . The piano sound on the others are good but Dexibell Japanese platinum is a more natural and organic sounding piano . With the Japanese Platinum you get like 4 different sounding pianos , the Japanese Platinum , the Japanese Platinum Live and the Japanese Classical Platinum the fourth I cant remember ,I do not use that one but the first two are stereo pianos and the Classical is Mono and sounds great on Jazz and Ballads .The electric pianos are tweakable and can be made to sound better they also have a new download for the Rhodes piano sound ,it might be called Rhodes platinum . I like the organ sounds and the strings sound also .
  3. I was practicing on my 1968 console Hammond organ which I have not touched in a year and recorded my practice on my zoom camera , and even though my playing was pretty sloppy , the organ really sounded nice , so I have a 1982 Suitcase Rhodes with the plastic keys that no one likes and I decided to fiddle with it and was wondering how much vintage vibe would charge me to overhaul it so I called and asked if would cost me an arm and a leg to get it worked on since I saw they had a suitcase Rhodes for sale for over $8000 and his reply was not actually an arm and a leg ,so I decided since they sell parts I would try and figure out what my Rhodes needs which I do not think is in that bad of shape and work on it myself .There was someone on the keyboard forums that overhauled his own Rhodes but I never heard the results on how it turned out .
  4. I think if you tweak the organs properly on the Dexibells you can get a pretty nice sound out of them , I use the spring reverb which is the last effect on my S3 . I played out with it about a month ago and the lead guitar player asked me what I was using for a leslie to speed up and slow down the organ sound and I told him it was the stock sound from the filter wheel , but he liked it . I was setting in with their keyboard player and he had a 7year old alesis that weighted 80 pounds and he liked the S3 and was amazed it weighted 23 pounds I would really like for someone to do a shootout with the Yamaha cp 88 Grand piano sound and the Dexibell Platinum Japanese piano sound to see which one sounds better .
  5. If you need nice sounding pianos , electric pianos and organs you should give the Dexibell S7 pro a try , they also have a lot of other nice sounds but space is limited and I think the action would not be as nice as the CP 88 .
  6. I have the S3 and it takes 50 seconds for it to upload , probably because it has the platinum pianos in it . I did get a chance to play out with a band with it a couple a weeks ago . They were having a celebration of life for a friend of mine and his brother who is a guitar player that I know asked me to sit in with their band that was playing at Dove Valley Winery , the bands name is Old Skool ,, we played Snow Blind Friend in honor of The guitar players brother and someone had recorded it on their cell phone and posted it on facebook ,I used the Gospel Organ on the song , I was not running through the mains because their regular keyboard player was there but I did have my two EV ZXA1 amps there , one was pointed at the singer and the other was pointed towards the dance floor. Since their keyboard player did not know the song I played it with the band , so when I saw someone had posted it on facebook I gave it a listen , I was actually surprised how full and present the sound was , the only thing I noticed about the sound was that I should of added some more treble to it ,but all in all it sounded pretty good .
  7. ! do not know if there still around but I have a Speakeasy 1000watt pre amp I would like to try on a wurly if I had one . In the seventies when I played in acountry rock band I had a Wurlitzer 200 a and a Ampeg Vt 212 not sure that's the right number ,but it had two 12inch speakers and a 100 watt tube amplifier which weighed 95 pounds but the wurly sounded beautiful through it . Wurlitzers used to cost $650 brand new , the last one I bought was $500 new because they were doing a gone out of business sale .
  8. Thanks smanzella , very nice sounding , hope I can make the space to download it onto my S3 .
  9. I have been trying to listen to the new Dexibell Electric platinum piano but can not find the recording of it ,if there is a sound sample where is it , thanks Mike .
  10. Al , you can turn the speakers off from inside the computer , can't remember where , might be the keyboard section or effects section , it somewhere around there , I have a little trouble finding things but I managed to find out how to turn up the on board drum machine which helps me here it better when playing .
  11. Well Jazz , I took your advice using the normal button on the first jazz rhthym and it is a lot easier to stay in time like that , not perfect but I do not think its bad and I have been practicing with a metronome but not on this song , Have You Met Miss Jones .
  12. Thanks Jazzoo , I know its good advice , I'll see how it works out .
  13. Thanks for the tips Jazz I'll try and follow the light and hit the normal button to start off with .
  14. I have always had trouble playing in time with a drum machine or a metronome and at the beginning of the song I really don't know where to start so I just try to dive in at the right spot . I haven't had any trouble playing with bands which I played in years ago because they were easy to follow and you can hear where everyone is at , its a little harder when you play a little harder on the piano and you drown out the drums its easy to lose the beat .
  15. Thanks Joe for setting that up , The only time I added a variation was to end the song , I know when I was playing with the jazz drummer I was trying to play different left hand and right hand phrases so maybe there is a certain way you can get it to trigger a slight response from the drummer . Jazz , I like the first, second , and I think fourth Jazz drum rhthym,s the last one being the Orchestra Swing Rhthym .
  16. Jazzooo , it was the last recording I made so it should be the first one you come to , you should be able to tell I have a Dexibell behind me and a Casio in front of me.
  17. I will have to try the Dexibell again , maybe I was too busy reading the sheet music ,but I thought the drum sound just kept repeating the same straight beat when not playing the casio . I will just follow the drum beat by itself and see if it does anything different when playing the casio . I might have an over vivid imagination .
  18. Randelph I don't know for shore but I only got the same straight beat over and over again wen I played the dexibell ,but when I went to play the casio it added some fills to it. I did record the casio and my timing is off but you can here it doesn't stay the same all the way through so my thinking is because its listening to what I am playing , have to find out from Mike Martin for shore , go to mike lupinetti on you tube , Fly Me To The Moon .
  19. I just realized that when using the built in drum machine on the s 3000 that it reacts to your playing .I was using the jazz drummer for back up timing while playing Fly Me To the Moon on my Dexibell and it just kept a straight simple beat ,then I tried playing it on the Casio and the drums were all over the place which was harder to keep in time with but it makes a great practice tool , it also sounds pretty nice .
  20. Thanks Sam , I haven't disabled it maybe some one else did ,I am not very good with computers maybe I did it by accident but you were able to see it , hope you liked it .
  21. Well I have been tweaking the number 1 Grand piano sound on the Cassio S3000 and decided to play along with the Casio Jazz Trio ,so if you want to check it out go to Mike Lupinetti on you tube , I am playing through my EV ZXA1 speakers and the piano sound to me sounds pretty nice , I do not use any pedal in this song which I Call Grilled Cheese .
  22. Thanks davedoerfler , I did not even think about that .
  23. I did a comparison today with the casio s3000 and the dexibell platinum Japanese grand , I just turned them both on and played them , I need to figure out how to tweak the casio , but it sounds decent coming through the zxa1 ev speakers , I need to figure out how to turn off the on board speakers to make it a little cleaner for recording . Go to mike lupinetti on you tube if interested .
  24. I am wondering how Casio was able to get such clean and polished sounds that transfer to the speakers without a lot of artifacts that you get when you run into speakers . The piano sounds great on the EV ZXA1 speakers but on the Dexibell you can here some static ,and I am running them both through the same mixer .
  25. We all must of received are keyboards on the same day . I went with the S 3000 , if I were to compare the action to my other keyboards the closet one would be my Kawai MP11. The action has the same smooth buttery feeling , only lighter and faster .It is shallower but is very easy to play , no fatigue at all . The first Grand piano that pops up on the screen is my favorite . I had it sitting across from my Dexibell and compared it to the Japanese Platinum piano sound , the Casio is not as lush soundingng as the Dexibell but it does have a nice piano sound of its own , the piano sound has a shorter decay then the Dexibell and is not as intricate and detailed ,but it still sounds great .If you play Jazz this piano is perfect cause of the quick action and the piano sound which compliment each other . It would also be great for a country rock band for a song like call me the breeze because its so quick and easy to play . The only thing I am having trouble with is trying to find out a way to switch the layered parts off and on without going through a lot of button pushing . I've only had one night with it but this is for sure a nice little keyboard .
