  1. You aren't going to hear me whine I do not think you've crossed the line So do not check here every day Because that's all I have to say dB
  2. I need to get one of the songs made into a video by professionals that can get it aired nationwide. I have no idea how to go about doing that, Paul - sorry. If I did, I'd have probably done so for one of my own tunes long ago. Best of luck with your song! dB
  3. Steve and Neil - thanks for telling us more about yourselves - glad to have you here. My good friend and brother Pim - as the person who put up the first post on this forum besides me, I'm very happy that you decided to introduce yourself as well! Thanks! I've noticed a few new people on the forum lately - say hi! dB

Hey John - I appreciate the respect, but you don't have to call me Mr. Bryce...since you've met me, I'm sure that you understand - I'm hardly what one would call an authority figure... http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/rolleyes.gifhttp://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Who else is out there? Don't be shy - only steadyb bites, and we tend to keep him pretty well fed... http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/wink.gif dB
  9. Cool... Dave, Dennis and Mr. Brewster - thank you all for taking the time and effort to introduce yourselves! I especially love it when some of the folks who lurk step up to the mic, because I think that it's important for us to remember that there are a contingency of people who we don't really see...maybe a bigger one than we realize... I'm very grateful for your presence and glad that you take the time to hang out here, regardless of whether or not you decide that you want to post. Please do feel free to jump in if and when you feel so inclined... Who else we got?? dB
  10. Excellent! More folks checking in! I love this thread... Thanks to Brian, Paul and Pat for standing up and saying hey to the group - we're glad to have you aboard! To quote Mr. Townshend - We're Not Gonna Ta...ooops, I mean Who's Next? Sorry... http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif dB
  11. Recorded it with onboard fx. Just a bit of reverb... dB
  12. Thanks for your comments, Rod! I've been ridiculously busy editing a ton of audio files for one project in which I am involved and working on a certain CD compilation as well, and have been neglecting listening to these - having someone take the time to listen to mine really sends that point home...gotta get to it. BTW - glad you liked the piano sound in Tap Dancer - it's my DG8...I really like the way that it records...the funny thing is that was one aspect that we kind of overlooked testing during the beta process - we were too busy listening to the sound system. It was really great to find out that it tracked nicely as well. Hey, how'd you like Valky's trombone licks? Thanks again for taking the time... dB
  13. Alright! Thanks to Rob, Jay and Mike, and a belated thanks to Midispaceho (what's your name, Doc?). I appreciate you guys taking the time to tell us about yourselves! Who else is out there? dB
  14. I notice that there's a bunch of newcomers to the forum. This thread is our equivalent of a guest book - please feel free to step up and introduce yourself! dB
  15. Cool! Welcome to Lauren, Fergal and Vladislav...we're glad to have y'all here! This little community continues to grow at an amazing pace... Anyone else that hasn't said "hi" yet? dB
  16. Really incredible vocal performance... soul and fire mixed with excellent technique and timbre. My friend William can sing some - he's a very talented man. I'm very lucky to have been able to work with him. I love that edgy single coil snarl. A tele perhaps? Right manufacturer, wrong axe. American Strat. Tobacco burst with a rosewood fingerboard. Through the Pod. then that analog lead sound... mmmmmmm... was that ANDY talkin'? Nope. Andy is one of the two stacked sounds doing the bass (the juicy one). The other part of the bass tone is an MKS-80. They stack really nicely...the lead line is actually another one of my faves, a Wavestation. They just rule... The background vocals are PERFECT for this part... almost over the edge... but not quite... Yep - that's pretty much exactly where I was going...I had that really cool part in Thomas Dolby's "Hyperactive" in mind when I asked Michelle to sing that part. She sang it like exactly as it existed in my head when I wrote it - how often does that happen when you're trying to communicate a part to another musician? compared to your other new song... it's so different that the casual listener wouldn't even guess it was from the same artist. Wow - high praise indeed. Thanks you for your kind words...once again, I encourage you to post a tidbit or two of your own! dB
  17. Macle, Really cool tune! The very beginning reminded me of Elton John's song "Tonight", but then it took off in a whole other direction. Excellent playing, great arrangement, and some seriously tasty string arranging. I love the singer's voice, I dug the piano part, and I was very impressed by the instrumental break in the middle. Plus, the mood of the music really seems to match the lyrics very well. Outstanding work! Thanks for posting it! dB
  18. Did you post a photo of the trombone player, Dave? 'Fraid not, big guy...you'll just have to be content to hear her blow. http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/wink.gifhttp://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Hey, Valky - thanks again for doing the part! How's the mix sound to ya? Yeah, yeah, I know, it's an MP3 'n all... dB
  19. Alright! Salutations to Espen, Casey, Nate, Michael and David. Welcome, guys - we're really glad to have you spending time here. Thanks for signing in! Step right up, folks...who else is out there? dB
  20. ...and the hits just keep on coming! Dave, Tedster, and Botch - greetings, felicitations and many thanks for taking the time to tip yer hats, and to contribute to the forum! In the immortal words of one of the greatest rock albums ever recorded: Who's Next? dB
  21. I have two new ones up as well... The first one, Woogman in de Jungle , is a good example of the sorts of things that go wrong when middle aged white guys try to get funky. The second one, Tapdancer , was co-written with ex-Keyboard magazine columnist Connor "Freff" Cochran (his lyrics, my music). Listen carefully for those trombone parts...is it a synth? Or could it be... http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/eek.gif Remember, no sucking up to the moderator...lemme know what you really think! I won't delete all of the negative posts... http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/wink.gif dB
  22. Cor, Chris and Phil, thanks for taking the time to tell us about yourselves. Welcome! Thanks for taking the time out of your schedules to participate in our forum! Who else we got out there? dB
  23. I have no problem admitting that. Having two of them that you can use at the same time in the same synth is pretty cool, too, ain't it? Especially those two...the nice people who made Andy talk did an excellent job on both of them. I am especially partial to the four-pole lowpass Moog-type filter...fat and sizzly beyond belief. The finer control of the Oberheim-type multimode is kinda cool, too - it's nice to have individual knobs for hi, lo and band pass. But being able to mix and match the two is just the best fun. Glad you seem to be digging yours as much as I am digging mine. dB
  24. Excellent! Thanks to Gerard, Dano and stuffy for standing up and saying hey! Always great to meet more of the people in the forum. ...and stuffy, you totally belong here. You're a musician, and you dig hi-tech toys - that's pretty much the admission fee. We welcome your participation, and your point of view. Oh, yeah, about the fact that you say that you suck...if you're enjoying yourself, then you don't suck. Who else are we missing? Anybody? Bueller? Anybody? dB
