Any others played this semi-weighted 88 - how does it feel to you? Similar to CK-61 keysboard? For those, like me, who’d like to see an SL compact SE w/73 keys - I think SL wants us to pay a bit more for the Numa X 73…. BTW Numa X 73 weighs about 25lbs.

Schlep is the right word for it - how often have i wished I could’ve taken up harmonica or violin? spare your back! I use a lightweight fold-up hand truck …works well. Attach heavy duty wheels on the bottom of your amp or speakers - roll em if you can! A Nord Electro is a good compromise on weight for performance Yamaha CK-61 is soooo lightweight, but with only 61 unweighted kys (Wish they’d make a 73-key CK version) Numa X 73 - at about 25 lbs for a weighted keys - it ain’t too heavy.

Yep. A = 440 Hz is a helpful standard, I guess. For an odd tangent on this subject, there are YouTube videos on the benefits of 432 Hz tones and tunings…. suggests they influence your brain, resonate with the universal frequency, or help with focus and to reduce stress. That cosmic frequency stuff - I am dubious. What is time? I listened to 440 vs. 432 Hz tuned guitar playing, but didn’t get a different vibe. Even if tuned down or up a bit - it was the melody, rhythm, and timbre - that seems to convey feelings, more than slight tuning variances.

I did not see Numa x 73 for $999 - that would be surprising….maybe a demo model? They are usually $1300+ The Vox Continental for $999 at Sweetwater seems a good price….but not a weighted keybed tho

CK61 has a handy switch on the back to turn off speakers. Such a lightweight keyboard! Punches above its weight? ;)

Does your camera adapter still work with an older iPad?? :)

How does CK-61 keys work for playing piano? Compared with SL Numa x 73? everyone has different opinions about keybeds. I like the CK-61 (light-weight!) but Numa X 73 has weighted keys - Your comments are helpful - checked a few stores near me, and these keyboards were not available for a test drive. Thx

Nord stage killer? CK-88 at $1.5K sounds good…. But the smaller CK 61 has the synth key action? So …. Yamaha sells the P121 - a 73-key weighted keyboard. ($1K). Yamaha also sells the CK-61 (not weighted! $1K) and the CK-88 (weighted, $1.5K, large!) Where is the portable CK-73 with weighted keys and the CK-61 guts. priced at $1300 vs SL Numa x 73 ? Let us small-gig/couch-players know know what you think of playing pianos on the CK-61.

Hi - love the more portable stage keyboards and prices. the Yamaha CK-61 has many great features at 12 lbs, about same price as a P121 with 73 weighted keys at 25 lbs will Yamaha offer a WEIGHTED CK-73? For about $300-400 more the Numa x 73 offers their weighted key action, and more functions and upgradability. Also look at the Yamaha P121 for the lowest cost hammer action 73 key. Currently use Kawai MP stage and Nord Electro - but would love an all purpose, light weight, but a good keybed for piano/Rhodes. Sudiologic SL73 works using iPad - but still not an all in one board.

Hi all - thanks for your comments about using iPad for music/midi and the heads up about upgrades. Question: I use an old iPad Air (3rd gen) because it has the headphone/audio output that I run to a PA. A USB keyboard is input to the iPad using the camera adapter. I use the NeoSoul keys a lot. I have a powered USB hub, but I’ve been using a dedicated power supply to keyboard. 1) With this setup I hear no delay (latency) in hearing sound as I play keyboard. In other setups using Bluetooth to a speaker, I did experience sound delay to the speakers. Q: Do you use WiFi or Bluetooth in your rig, or do you have an audio output from your iPad direct to speakers/PA? 2) During sets, I unplug the USB from the Powered USB hub to the iPad camera adapter because I get clicking noise unless unplugged. This does not seem to depend on using USB to power a keyboard, or when I use the keyboard’s power. The noise comes from the USB power. (Since the iPad battery lasts pretty well - I don’t charge it when I’m playing/connected to speakers.) Let us know if you have any tricks to isolate your audio signals from power source noise? Thanks!

Great comments in this thread… we all wish for the ultimate EP keybed. If price is no object… boards in $2500+ are pretty amazing. The Kawai MP11SE is very good, but heavy. But how about the new entry level boards as a bottom board? Yammy P121? Korg D1 or Casio S3000? Costs < Numa X. As with old Casio Previa’s. Sometimes a keyboard < $1000 can still be acceptable basic sound & action. Let us know if you’ve played the new entry level under 25 pound keyboards? Thx!

Thank you to all the Numa X users for comments…. I miss the old “Keyboard Mag” shootouts where they compare various pianos or synths. Nothing beats playing keyboards yourself (if you have local stores/access) but the comments from players on this forum are super helpful! I would love a comparison of playing Numa X 73 ($1350) Vs. Dexibell VIVO S3 73.($1799) Vs. Yamaha CP73 ($2100) The Casio PX 5 is 88 keys ($1000). I’ve played Privia pianos that had pretty great feeling keys, but not this one. I guess the Viscount Legend 70s compact or Crumar 17 are in the next tier with the Yamaha YC73 or Korg SV. Kawai MP11 is top tier. Nords are pricey… and I prefer electro for organs/EP but not AP (I still wish Kawai made a light 73 key stage)

StudioLogic now offers the Numa X in a weighted 73. Those Kawaii pianos mentioned are great - but no pitch or mod wheels if that is important to you. Casio S3000 has a knob you can use for pitch bend. Casio Previa has a nice feel for the price. I also like the PX5S, but that is 88 key. The Kurtz. Forte is a beast of a synthesis machine A portable 73 key is hard to find in your price range. Nord prices are high, and Electro has waterfall keys. Great organs tho. I use a StudioLogic SL 73 with an iPad as the sound source. Been using Neo-Soul keys.

Since you mention 73/76 keys for compact space - do you like when manufacturers put. The pitch wheel up high, above the lowest octave keys? If a bottom board it can be a reach to the pitch bend. I like wheels but joystick or Nord stick… I guess you can get used to anything.,,, depends how often you do pitch bend. do you like the side insert pitch bend on the Vox?
