Boggs
It'll be on its way to its new home in Washington (State)... I am going to miss this one... Just finished it and acoustically this thing is SUH-WEEEEET! Plugged in, it is responsive as hell too!!! Manlius Modern Vintage humbuckers (both tapped with pull-push volume/tone knobs for tap selection of each giving 8 different pickup selections available). Travels like a dream and versatile as all hell... 24.75" scale length. Ipe fingerboard. SS frets. Plays like buttuh! I'm proud of this build, for sure! Koa top and back on chambered poplar skeleton. The guitar, case, packing material, carton and all is less than 14lbs total! http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Mantis/Koa-Poplar_Mantis_Done_1s.jpg http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Mantis/Koa-Poplar_Mantis_Done_2s.jpg http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Mantis/Koa-Poplar_Mantis_Done_3s.jpg http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/boggs.com/Mantis/Koa-Poplar_Mantis_Done_4s.jpg Check out my Rock Beach Guitars page showing guitars I have built and repaired... http://www.rockbeachguitars.com
BillWelcome Home Studios
Not exactly my taste in body shape, but it sure came out purty, didn't it? And that weight figure is seriously attractive. "I believe that entertainment can aspire to be art, and can become art, but if you set out to make art you're an idiot." Boggs
This model is actually my biggest seller due to its comfort, ease of travel with, and the shock of such huge tone from such a small body... skipclone 1
That is nice, I like the all-wood access panel in back-classy. Lovin that fingerboard material too. Boggs
Thanks! The neck is maple with an Ipe fingerboard ... Check out my Rock Beach Guitars page showing guitars I have built and repaired... http://www.rockbeachguitars.com
Bluesape
Looks great, but the upper access looks iffy in terms of reach and comfort. I use that area of the board a lot, and dunno if I'd find it too chunky at the neck joint.... Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never! Boggs
I cropped an image to show the fingerboard but I cannot load it to my host site to link from at work. Be watching after today... It does swirl and wave and is really gorgeous. It is an excellent color for both the golds of the koa and the greenish cast of the poplar... Thanks again, guys!
