bought today a nice old Gumika guitar LP style, made in japan, setneck. mahogany body, brass nut, rail humbuckers.

but can't find anything about this brand,

the kawai bass was also in the package for only 80 euro both, they were the dirtiest guitars i've ever seen, looked like they were stored at chicken shack, was al covered in bird shit,

took some cleaning these two.

but they both were to my amazement in full working order only the kawai needed one new volume pot.

Looks like a nice player. I have to admire you. I am incapable of looking at dirty old guitars that need work. There are some real gems to be found but I'll never find em. Hope you enjoy it. Post some sound clips.

You look as though you've got a bargain in the LP alone!! How does it sound?

I'd get a bit of oil onto thos fretboards, they look a bit dry from your picture.

Well done - I wish you joy with them.

Cool score!

I bet that the Gumi has a nice resonant sound, a little more like a LP Junior, Special, or SG, with that thin, flat-topped body. I'd consider some kind of P-90 style pickups for it, perhaps Seymore Duncan Phat Cats or Gibson P-94's (both are P-90 pickups that will retrofit directly into a "standard" humbucker's bezel and routing). Then knock the rust off your "Open-G"... spraken zie Keef? ;):D:thu::cool:

I'm with Geoff, put a little smidgeon of fretboard-oil on there, it's been a long and bumpy chicken-$h!t road for the poor wooden waifs!

now that guitar is for sale again.

HondoII mustang copy (today)

nashville western with pu.

due to pc problems (hd crash) no chance to update all to my site or tell it here.

most of them i bought for resale, so deadcheap :D

only the manta ,the jazzbox and the gumika stay.

CaevanO'Shite, the body is not that thin as it looks almost as thick as on a real lp ,a SG is way thinner .

it has enough balls and i like the pu's it came with, if there were normal pu's in it this one i would sell it.

these pu's give the guitar something special.

and they sound good too what do you want more good looks and a good sound.
