strat0124
Played a Deering this week at the music store, and man....that thing is cool. Amazing how you get into the instrument, and approach things in a different, yet familiar way. If you know what I mean. Anybody play one? or own one? D_dup3
Did you check the archives yet? I know there was a discussion of this a year or two ago, G, although I don't recall it being very long/in depth...
strat0124
I had remembered that somebody in Los Lobos had or has the 12 string Deering, and when I saw this one in the store I had to try it. I play banjo already a bit, but having the guitar scale made it very interesting. Caevan O’Shite
They're actually a little longer than the usuall guitar in scale length, somewhere around 26" or 27" or so, give or take a 1/2". But that much more guitar-like neck-shape is so much nicer, as far as I'm concerned! You can order a six-string version of any of their banjo models, and they make a twelve-string banjo that sounds killer in the recordings that I've heard!
