ObviouslyCool
I saw Dave Mason in concert at Penn State many years ago. He played a red Strat with a Telecaster neck. Can you switch necks on these two very easily? (Wonder what ever happened to him?) I used to know everything.
roy d
the shape of the bottom of the neck is a little different... so you can switch one way with a little less contact and not the other without modifying the neck slot. Warmoth talks about this on their website. Tedster
You forget that although Dave Mason was not an astounding guitar player, he wrote some pretty kickass tunes (Feelin' Alright, Only You Know And I Know for starters), and sings pretty well, too. I'm a Dave Mason fan ...one of my favorite Dave Mason tunes is "World In Changes". "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"

I liked how he did that one with AND without Traffic. Good stuff, in my opinion!
Abnorm
My favorite song by Dave is "Look At You, Look At Me." Listen to the guitar solo. One of those great blues ideas like Page's "Since I've Been Loving You."
mchen
Dave Mason played at the base of the mountain in Steamboat Springs this August 30th. Didn't get to go, but some friends said it was great! "It's better to wear out than to rust out!"
urbanhiker
He was on George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass" sessions and the live Delaney and Bramlett album with Eric Clapton. Remember the multi-colored LP "Alone Together"? The vinyl itself was splatter art.
sgstrat
Good call by Abnorm re: "Look At You Look At Me". Truly a great and overlooked guitar solo. Has anyone else here ever noticed that the first half of the solo in "Stairway To Heaven" is VERY similar (and was recorded later)? Just an observation. msu65
One of the great ballads of all time. "We just Disagree". But I found out later Dave did not write it, but made it a hit.
