AmadMozart
Just finished engineering and producing a song written by the bass player in my project band - and I am looking for some mix feedback. I just got a couple of new pieces of gear which i am using for the first time at mixdown - a Manley Massive Passive and a Manley Vari Mu Limiter. Please be as critical as possible - flames welcomed as long as I can understand what you think is wrong wiht this mix or what needs changed to improve it. If you don't like Phil Collins (see earlier long thread!!!!) - this song is very reminiscent of his post Genesis pop (don't shoot me, I didn't write the thing, I just engineered and produced it - and besides, it's all for fun, right The song is at the link below - and is called - Song for Grace. http://artists2.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/Mark_Coming_Project/ Enjoy and thanks in advance for the critiques. RaGe
Since you're also producing ... get a decent drums library sample CD, or at least try to record just snare drum and hi hat instead of that synth! Also this guitar on the right (chorus) ... maybe try to cut some high end, or turn it down a little, i don't know it sounds kinda out of context (sonically) to me. I'll let the other sharks ....i mean guys add more comments This message has been edited by RaGe on 10-12-2001 at 10:36 AM

I just purchased a drum library called discrete drums - relatively new 12 CD collection from some folks up in PA - I will let you know how I like it. ------------------ http://www.broadjam.com/artistprofile/artistindex.asp?artistID=936 or listen at... http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/294/mark_coming_project.html http://www.broadjam.com/artistprofile/artistindex.asp?artistID=936 or listen at... http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/294/mark_coming_project.html
