urbanhiker
I have 2 strats: a '68 and a '73. I just got the '73 refretted and the varnish on the neck stripped and reapplied very lightly. It's great now, like a new guitar. I don't want to take the '68 to clubs any more, so I'm considering buying a 70s reissue. I want something that will sound as close to identical as possible to the one I have, and I realize I may have to get the same neck work done. Has anyone tried these particular reissues? Do they sound like the originals?
Tedster
Welcome, Urbanhiker... I would take my current '68 Strat to a store (perhaps)...and play it side by side next to one you're considering. I really don't like critically checking out gear in stores. Last time I was trying out pedals, and some dipshit was wanking away on a bass at incredible volume for an endless amount of time right next to me. I had to crank way up to hear. But, that may be the only way. "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
