anybody remember this story: they needed a title for the then new album and j.beck plus attitude wanted to call it "beck"!

and of course the record co. freaked thinking it would confuse people, which was what j.beck wanted to do anyway.his retort after they told him that was "JEFF beck-who the fuck else?

"who else" became the album title(great record too).

That's the most idiotic thing I've ever seen/heard of ever. What a blatantly obvious ploy. Who is supposed to buy this guitar?

Martin, Fender and Gibson have lost their minds, trying to make all of these "Collector" guitars... and the people buying them are even more mindless. It's the apocalypse.

The very idea that there should be a Beck model Martin is made more ridiculous by the concurrent announcement of a Mark Knopfler model Martin.

Hmmm...Beck...Knopfler...yeah, I'd say their design opinions carry about the same weight in the guitar world.

Maybe Ibanez is the only company to at least offer a new guitar design/concept when they do a "signature" model, like the George Benson or Pat Metheny models. At least those guitars had something more to offer that an inflated price and a signature imprinted on the headstock.
