fet
Are there any modern "instrumental rock/R&B" combos or artists that correspond to, say, the Ventures, the Shadows, Booker T and the MGs, and the others from the glorious past? All I can think of are the guitar virtuosi (Satriani, Vai, Johnson, etc.), whom I can take or leave. Any real BANDS that do the non-vocal thing? Thanks for reply. Lee Flier
Hey d gauss, don't know if you know this but Man or Astro-Man just built a killer all-analog studio here in Atlanta. It's cheap, too! Can't wait to check it out. --Lee
stanner
well there is a whole world of instro music out there and a lot of it is covered in which has its feet firmly planted in surf music in all its tangents but there are some bands who do some very deep and gutsy music, the main one i'm familiar w/ is from sfbay area 'the mermen'. this is the most brilliantly composed instro music i have ever heard-just guitar, bass and drums but the magnitude of their sound is undeniable.imho AMPSSOUNDBETTERLOUDER
