C4 Commander

Just in case this hasn't been covered...

I saw the thread "Super Jupiter vs. PolyEvolver Rack" and it reminded me about the Mackie

" C4 Commander Software " for their C4 controller. If you own any vintage keys or modules and weren't aware of the abilities of this system you should look into it.

I too have an MKS-80 in storage but when I recently picked up a Mackie C4 I wasn't aware of the full scope of the Commander Software download. But because I have a friend and old band partner who has worked with the C4 extensively he was quick to point out that with it you can use the C4 as a dedicated programmer for tons of vintage keys and other equipment. Including my trusty old MKS-80.

So now I can look back at all of the sessions that I had back in the day programming my MKS-80, Jupiter 106, DX7 (!), Six Trak, D-50 etc. and scoff! How awful were those read outs?! But if you were on a budget as I was that was what you could afford. I shall have my revenge! Now I just need to get them out of mothball... :)

There is a very extensive list of keyboards that the Commander software allows you to program:
