tartan
Hi everyone -- I'm new here. I have a quick question about my PC-88. My center D has a strange problem. I press the key down, and then one of several things happens: a) It's as if I'm pressing it multiple times, so I keep hearing a new attack. This is while holding the key down -- even without varying pressure. b) It makes no sound at all, then suddenly it will sounds a new key-on attack. c) Rapid-fire, random keypressing sound. Of course, I'm simply holding it down. So clearly, I have an electrical contact issue. I'm very skilled at electrical wiring, etc., and would be happy to repair this myself. Can anyone recommend a part and source? Thanks, Josh
ITGITC
Could it be something as simple as a dirty contact on that key? "Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent." - Victor Hugo
Finale
What my sheep friend said. What you could do to make sure the problem is in the keybed : transpose your synth one semitone up or down to see if the problem moves one key. If not, clean that key contact. tartan
Ok, so I tore into it. In an attempt to get the little rubber boot out from above the contact, and through the little hole, I tore the boot. Anyone have a good source for replacement parts? (While I'm at it, I need some 01W/FD key guides, too. Thanks, Josh

Yep, transposing didn't affect it at all.
