Bay Area KC'ers: JJ's got a Hammond!

JJ's Blues in San Jose (on Steven's Creek across the street from Guitar Center) just got a C2 in supposedly A-1 condition.

I'm heading down there right now to check it out. Unless some other keyboard player has beat me to it, I'll sit in with the house band tonight.

Don't have much time to write --

So they got an absolutely pristine C2 from an old lady's house. The claim is she bought it new and it sat in her living room since 1957. It certainly plays like that is true.

No Leslie though. :(

Johnny says he's working on getting a Leslie. I suspect I'll be spending a lot more time at the jams down there. :thu:

Michelle,

I've been going there only sporadically, and spending most of my "jam time" at the Monday Night Murphy's Law jam in Sunnyvale.

But now that there's a Hammond at JJ's, I'll probably be there a lot. :D We should meet up over there one day and rip that thing up a little! Show that testosterone-filled joint how the chicks do it. :thu:

Still, we can trade off playing Gregg Rolie/Santana solos. :D

Sounds fun! You'll know what to do -- you've played enough clones over the years, I'm sure. It really is a blast playing the real thing. As nice as the Nord Electro is, that top octave just isn't the same.
