zoomer
Just got a Macintosh i-book G-4 with Garage Band, and hooked it up to my Roland Rd700sx with a new USB cable, but I cannot get the computer to recognize the MIDI input from the Roland. Question #1 -- is the Roland always recognized by the MC as a MIDI (or software) instrument, or can it be a regular instrument instead? Question #2 -- does anyone know what I am doing wrong to cause the Mac to say no MIDI instruments recognized? I tried two USB cables, one new, one known to be good, all to no avail. Thanks for any help in advance.
CraigT
don't know nothin' bout macs but maybe it needs a specific driver for the RD700SX? if so it'd be on the CD that came with it.
burningbusch
I assume you have the RD700SX in USB-MIDI mode. EDIT->5. File Utility/USB->3. USB Setting--> MIDI. Also assume you've downloaded the newest USB drivers from Roland. Does it show up in the Apple MIDI/Audio utility? Busch.
