Eric Iverson
As long we have enough common sense to continue to learn, on our own, and from each other, I think things will turn out all right! And there have been people over the years I thought were lousy, that kept on learning and studying and practicing.... and now are good players! If they continue learning, who knows? Oh, and have the common courtesy to respect our bandmates! For lots of reasons, among which.. the audience hears the total package, not just MY part or YOURS! Re: beginners listening... well, listening is an art in itself. And if they're struggling to just get the basic chord out there, it's not easy for them to hear details. I guess that's true for most of us, at whatever level we are at. And sometimes I,personally, am guilty of playing the right chords, but being insensitive to the "mood of the moment" spiritually or emotionally... tunnel vision in other words! Of course, I'm not sure if playing a whole song in the wrong key qualifies as a "detail"!
