Dave Bryce
Whassup. boys and girls - I'm taking off for Berlin today to attend ADAM's annual end of the year meeting. It's a short trip - I'll be back on Monday night - but I have no idea how much internet access and/or time I'll have when I'm there, so I may not be posting much until next week. Hopefully, brother Geoff will be available for Guest Moderator duties... dB ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <== Professional Affiliations: Royer Labs • Music Player Network

synthetic
Geez, buy a Powerbook already. You won't regret it. Of course, then you'll have no excuse to take a vacation from this place.
Geoff Grace
Jeff, I'm pretty sure Dave already has one. I think it was more a question of time and access that prompted him to ask me to fill in. I have an iBook that works just fine...when I'm someplace where I have the time to use it and that has hi-speed internet access. MikeT156
OT: The language barrier lives. My understanding is that people from Netherlands speak a combination of German and "other" languages, sort of like a German dialect of sorts. At least that's what the German's would say. Being from PA and having visited the "Deep South" when I was in the military in the late sixties and early seventies, I would suggest that the difference in the "American dialects" is probably more pronounced between people from New England, or worse yet Boston, and the deep south, say Alabama. Things may have changed a bit since the old days, as more northern born people migrated south for warmer temperatures and "southern hospitality". It always struck me as funny when I was in the service that fast talking northerners couldn't understand slow drawl talking southerners. It was particularly funny when they were mad at each other.
