felix.
I just found out about this. Massive Attack has released the soundtrack to Danny the Dog (a new Jet Li film). I'm not a martial arts movie fan, but I am a Massive Attack fan. Anyone heard about this or heard the soundtrack? Any opinions?
bearded yeti
Thanks felix, I'm a big Massive Attack fan. Where did you find out about this?
Phait
I read about this too and checked out the soundtrack, really cool stuff. I'm trying to save the .WMA files referenced in the .ASX files I listened through, but everytime I save them through a link I made, it just launches WMP. Massive Attack is another one of my influences, it was nice to hear.
felix.
How did I find out about it? It was one of the top albums on iTunes in the Electronic dept when I was browsing yesterday.
r33k
The soundtrack is very nicely done... but I have the same problem with this album that I do with many soundtrack-type albums, which is I don't really get much enjoyment out of listening to a bunch of short music cues, however beautiful or interesting or inventive they may be. I want to hear a piece build and develop, not just hook me with an interesting musical idea, and then just as I start getting into the piece, WHAM, cue's over, next track... If I wanted to hear a bunch of interesting song fragments, I'd pull up all the half-finished projects in my Pro Tools folder. But, yea, Massive Attack are some of the best in the business and consistently so. If you like soundtrack albums and you like MA, it should be an automatic purchase. r33k
felix.
I'm surprised we haven't heard from Jeebus on this thread.
Jeebus
I just noticed it now. Good find, Felix. I love MA, and still have Mezzanine and 100th Window on heavy rotation. I've listened to the first track so far, and I'll post a mini-reveiw after I've heard them all.
Intheether
Massive Attack without Daddy G is not Massive Attack to me.They lost me at 100th Window - great production, average songs. *
Jeebus
They aren't the massive attack they used to be, that's for sure. I don't see Daddy G's absense as a bad thing though... just a different direction.
