fisheye
Just got a Speakeasy Keyboard Tube Preamp to liven up my piano, rhodes and hammond sounds in my laptop. Connecting the preamp with my old Roland keyboard cube gives a very loud sound; I can't get it softer for playing at home or with my soft playing jazz trio (piano, guitar, bas). I can set the volume down on my cube, of course, but when putting it below volume 1 or 2, it seems to cut off the richness added by the preamp. Same with setting the gain on the preamp very low. What to do? Adding a line-level volume pedal? Adding a small mixer? Adding a DI with attenuation switch? Or am I doing something wrong?
jfhyde
Hi, the newer speakeasy preamps have a gain control or two for the stereo preamp in the back to adjust the output to the amp. If you bought yours new they'll be there, if not, you will have to ship it back to be upgraded. John
