shniggens
Of course, the original was recorded on guitar . . . how would you approach accompanying the song on piano? I've just been somewhat following the melody with the chords, but it sounds corny. How to emulate strumming guitar on piano? Possible? Should I pick a different sound? Suggestions? Tom Fiala
Here's my suggestion: let the vocalist handle the melody. Try using a slightly-overdriven EP sound for the guitar parts. Don't sweat trying to copying the "strumming". Make the song your own! Tom F. "It is what it is."

I frequently change the style in which the original was done when I play Beatles songs on keyboards. dB ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <== Professional Affiliations: Royer Labs • Music Player Network
Tom Fiala
As I recall that particular song, there are several guitar-licks (after each vocal line) and a organ riff (towards the end of the chorus) that should be played in that song, but not a lot of "strumming" or complex fret work. I think you could play a bass line and comp some chords rhythmically for most of it, then add in the riffs above. I'll have to go home and listen to it again, though. Tom F. "It is what it is."
