Can a digital piano be out of tune with itself?

I was trying out a Yamaha P120 at GC tonight and I swear the C below middle C sounded out of tune. I was playing octaves with that key and it didn't sound right - the other C octaves without that key sounded right. I tried it with both the onboard speakers and an external Roland keyboard amp. I didn't get to try it with headphones on. I heard it on the Grand Piano 1 patch but I'm not sure I noticed on the other patches.

Am I just hearing things?

Maybe there was a similiar frequency coming from the ventilation system that made that piano tone seem out of tune. I've had the same thing happen at home with the fan noise coming from my computer.

No guitarists were harmed during the making of this message.

In general, harmonic complexity is inversely proportional to the ratio between chording and non-chording instruments.

You're probably right. The drum room was on the other side of the wall and someone was playing drums a little bit while I was playing. But that's not when I noticed it. Maybe it's where it was placed - below two other digital pianos that were on wall mounted shelves. Dunno.

I guess no one else has experienced this so it's probably some environmental thing. I'll bring my Extreme Isolation headphones next time I go try it.

Thanks all for the responses.
