Throatsinger
After years of studying throat-singing, I've developed my voice in ways that make me think that I could be good at providing unique voices, especially for animation. Can anyone suggest ways to get into that business? Thanks, Steve Sklar Steve Sklar http://khoomei.com http://www.bigskyrocks.com
spigotsaol.com
Make a SHORT demo, put it on CD in an attractive package. Get the demo in the hands of the people that are actually doing the work, and offer to help them with demos, on-hold messages, pet projects, etc for free. Show them that you are a pro, that you can nail it in 1-3 takes, that you are versital, that you have no attitude, and that you won't waste their time. You start getting paid very shortly after that. D_dup3
Spigots, you forgot to mention the importance of controlling the relative volume of consonants...such as the letter "m"! ;)
Throatsinger
Thanks, Spigot. D, I can control the relative levels of the harmonics within the consonants. Didja know that to make an "m" sound, your velum must be open? Steve Steve Sklar http://khoomei.com http://www.bigskyrocks.com
Anifa
Steve, Here is a web search I pulled for voice actors. There are 277 sites that you might pick and choose from... DMOZ - Voice Actors Scroll down the page first before clicking any of the selections on top. Hope this helps some. You can take the man away from his music, but you can't take the music out of the man.
