lrossmusic
... it were possible that George and Sadam could take their fight outside somewhere. Like outside of the universe or the galaxy, whichever is bigger. And let them stay out there for a while too. At least until they learn how to behave themselves! (Please excuse me, I used to watch a lot of Star Treck. Great production, I loved it.)

coyote
assume for the moment that all the Administration's rhetoric is valid, and that Iraq represents a distant threat as advertised... Watch as now-all-but-forgotten Afghanistan slowly slides back into anarchy, and the people in that region grow ever angrier at the USA for not keeping its promise to rebuild that nation. Then look back at the 1991 Gulf War, and remember that with a golden opportunity to march into Baghdad the elder Bush decided not to - and instead elected to try to support an internal coup in an attempt to preserve some continuity of government there. So, is the current 'solution' to the Iraqi problem worse than the problem itself? Did we not successfully contain a USSR and China which had huge quantities of every type of WMD (Weapon of Mass Destruction)? I don't know the answers, but these seem valid questions.... I used to think I was Libertarian. Until I saw their platform; now I know I'm no more Libertarian than I am RepubliCrat or neoCON or Liberal or Socialist. This ain't no track meet; this is football.
