Goldberg Posted October 19, 2002 Posted October 19, 2002 OK real quick here-what's the instrument Mono uses in "Life in Mono" for those high bell things? If you want to know my completely blind opinion I would say the D-50 (I say completely blind because I've never even seen a D-50 in real life, and I know absolutely crap when it comes to old synths. But then, for all I know, Mono probably used a Triton. If so, joke's on me). "Bach is ever new"-Glenn Gould
Jonathan Hughes Posted October 20, 2002 Posted October 20, 2002 I just listened to the song, but i didn't hear anything I'd call "high bell things," so I assume you're talking about that percussive keyboard sound that goes pretty much through the whole song. I have no idea what specifically they used, but it sounds like a mediocre harpsichord sample layered with a plucky synth sound. You should be able to come pretty close to it on any keyboard that's got a harpsichord sample in it. There was a brief article about them in Keyboard shortly after that album came out. You might want to check that out to see if it mentions specifics.
