Intheether Posted August 8, 2002 Share Posted August 8, 2002 Hello: I have a crate amp and a separate pair of event monitors. I don't think amps and reference monitors are interchangeable. If you don't need something to gigg, look at a powered set of near field monitors, like those from Event, for example, although there are plenty of choices. Just make sure you are happy with the bass - some of them wimp out round 100Hz. You should be able to get setup nicely for under $500.
