Carlito Posted August 8, 2002 Posted August 8, 2002 Hi guys. Does anyone know a Keyboard amp that could do a good job as a home studio monitor? I'm trying to save money and space. Could a pair of Mackies srm450 do the job? Thanks
Intheether Posted August 8, 2002 Posted August 8, 2002 Hello: I have a crate amp and a separate pair of event monitors. I don't think amps and reference monitors are interchangeable. I could be wrong, but I don't know of a kind that would serve that dual purpose, or at least ones that would be marketed as such. ~nel *

If you don't need something to gigg, look at a powered set of near field monitors, like those from Event, for example, although there are plenty of choices. Just make sure you are happy with the bass - some of them wimp out round 100Hz. You should be able to get setup nicely for under $500. The Mackies will set you back around $1300 unless you know of some deals I want to hear about!
