audiofreek
Some folks say position your overheads so that they are directly over the snare to create a strong centre image and keep phase integrity on the snare.I haven't usually done this in the past, keeping the o.h.s centred on the kick,to create a true image of the kit.I find this keeps the cymbal image, and kit image intact. It does not bother me in the least to think that the snare will be slightly off centre(the way it actually is). I am going to try somethig new,and focus the o.h.s on the snare on my next session, maybe I'll get a better snare sound. :)
