DailyGrind
I know this may be a bit of a lame question since I'm assuming the answer is no, but the connector looks the same... I just bought a Korg OASYS PCI card that Guitar Center's blowing out for $499 and was wondering if I'd be able to connect it's ADAT out to my Cambridge Soundworks' digital optical in (which I think is s/pdif). Any help in clarifying this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Dave Bryce
They both use a TOS link connector, but the format is different, and is usually not compatible. The ADAT lightpipe sends 8 channels at once, where optical S/PDIF only sends two. I believe that some units allow you to switch the TOS link jack between the two formats in software. I don't know if the OASYS card is one of them. dB ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <==
DailyGrind
Dave, Thanks for the quick reply. I'll have to dig a bit deeper to see if I can do what I want but I appreciate the pointer in the right direction. -Peter
Bauer
According to Installation Guide, there is one ADAT in, one ADAT out and a "Digital Breakout Connector", wich provides S/PDIF in- and output. Hope this helpsLennart Dr. Bauer
