Other Windows Returns

Jim Aikin

Recommended Posts

It's official -- I've started uploading my Other Windows archive to the Web.

Other Windows, a forum for my half-baked opinions on art, creativity, and the world in general, appeared in Keyboard between Jan. '92 and Aug. '95. The new versions will be expanded, updated, enhanced, and given fresh relevance where appropriate -- without, one hopes, losing their piquant charm, such as it was.

If you're interested, drop in at my personal site, www.musicwords.net , which is still somewhat under construction (heh-heh-heh), and click on the "Art, Artists, and the Arts" link.

P.S.: I've removed the comma from the link. It was inserted automatically by MusicPlayer's software, which is apparently not quite as www-friendly as it ought to be.

Looks really good, Jim. Loads really fast.

For those of you not getting to the site, try it without the comma at the end of the URL:

Do you take requests Mr. Aikin? I'd love to read your thoughts on Philip K. Dick. Perhaps you are familiar with Lem's laudatory essays on Dick, collected in Microworlds. Fine and fun stuff, but Lem's criticism, clever as it is, of the Strugatski Bros. "Roadside Picnic" overlooks, in my opinion, a fundamental point of the book, and this oversight somehow makes me very curious to read other well-written Sci-Fi criticism of Dick.

I enjoy your site.
