CD Burns cut songs short...help!

Anyone know how to safely adjust the buffer that has to do with how the data flows from computer to cd-burner, or from the cd-rom drive to the burner when copying cd's?? I've had songs get cut short 5 to 15 seconds from the end when trying to copy full cd's from my rom drive to the burner. Strange thing is, when I play the copy on a regular cd player, after the song cuts out, the timer still runs to what would be the actual end of the song, it just can't be heard. I have a PC, Pent II, 256Ram, 8x4x32Plextor Burner, 40X cd-rom drive. It happens no matter which software I use to burn, plextor, adaptec, etc...but mostly when direct copying from cd to cd without using temp image. Even when I allow a test burn first, it doesn't indicate any problems and continues to the actual burn. Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks
