b3fiend
Does anyone know of a site that keeps a collection of synth patches for different cover tunes? Someone started one like this for the Alesis QS series, but I don't think it was ever seriously worked on. If it doesn't exist, this would be a GREAT idea. I wish I had time to pursue it. Imagine being able to go to one website, look up the song you want a patch for, and have a listing of user-submitted patches for different synths. I can't believe this hasn't been done... -Gregg
aeon
This would require people to actually program their synths! http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Actually, a little of this does go on for the Nord Modular on its mailing list. Go tell someone you love that you love them.

My band is pretty good at deciding on several new songs on Thursday night practice, we spend a few hours learning the music, and I have to get the patches nailed by Friday night... sometimes I just gotta cheat. Non-keyboard playing bandmates don't always grasp the concept that learning the music is only a FRACTION of what I have to do... http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/smile.gif I won't even go into how many times I've grabbed a midi off the net to look in staff view at how someone else figured out a nasty part when I only had an hour to learn it. http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif -Gregg This message has been edited by b3fiend on 08-05-2001 at 02:27 PM

Damn, I wish I had this resource when I used to play cover bands. No shame here http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/smile.gif I do this all the time. And I do recall fondly having to create patches for a lot of songs on a ds-8 (think dx7 but with a better programming interface) It's tough enough finding user patches for synths. This seems a bit extreme that such a resource would be available.
