mreddyson
I want to play East West's Steinway B sample. Can Roland's XV-5080 hold it? Can it hold "Giga'Sampler? Can it hold Emagic's Computer Plug in Rhodes?
Stephen Fortner
As I mentioned in a reply to your near-identical post in another thread, Emagic's plug-in runs only under Emagic Logic Audio... on your computer. There is a VST version which will run under Cubase or any VST sequencer. Gigasampler is a program which runs on a Windows-based PC, which the Roland is not. If you really want to play Gigasampler live, get a rackmounted PC with a FAST audio card (RME comes to mind) and FAST Midi interface (I'm a Mac person, but I've heard good things about Ego-Sys on the PC side). mreddyson
Thank you for your replies! But I am still not sure if can Roland's XV-5080 can hold East West's Steinway B sample? Thanks
Bobro
The East-West Steinway B is 1.6 Gigabytes in size- huge! What's the capacity of a maxed-out XV-5080? Googling... http://www.lakewoodsoftware.com/XV-5080/compare.html looks like the answer is no. I'm long overdue for a good digital/sampled piano (and good key action) so I've been checking these things out, there are several threads on this forum as well. -CB
