stjane02
How can I increase my knowledge of the keyboard and synths? Are there any good books? If not what else can I do to learn more???
Rod S
Are you looking for information on theory and playing or on the technology behind the synths/keyboards? As far the technology, check the old posts here... lots of good information. Keyboard mag is a good resource. Pick one up at your local store. Some of the past articles are on the web too www.keyboardmag.com They also recently started a series explaining the principles behind substractive synthesis, which is probably the best place to start to understand how synthesizers work. Let's see, what else: http://www.recording.org/ http://www.borg.com/~jglatt/ - lots of good information on midi http://www.harmony-central.com/ http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Underground/2288/ - synthesizer and some theory info http://www.phys.tue.nl/people/etimmerman/RecordingFAQ.html - lots of FAQ some stuff to check out As far as books, I can't think of something from the top of my head. My advice, save your money and scrounge the web for information. What specifically are you interested in, or are just searching for some general information at this point? stjane02
Thanks Rod! Thats real helpful! Sorry I didn't make it more specific on what I wanted to learn more about. Its Technology. I know how to play keyboard well, but I don't know much about syths or the technology of keyboards in general.
