Xenophile
Can someone refer me to a reliable tech in northern CA that can restore my beloved old Jupiter 8? I had it on the road for 5 or 6 years, retired it around '90, and just recently retrieved it from storage. Still works fairly well, but it has definitely gotten flaky. It's one of the later models, with the "DCB" connector on the back. It would be great to get it back in shape, and a midi retrofit would be nice, too. Dave Bryce
Try contacting: Encore Electronics 611 Laird Lane Lafayette, CA 94549 Phone/FAX: (925) 229-8875 http://www.encoreelectronics.com They makes a MIDI retrofit for the Jupiter-8 - the kit even adds a second bank of 64 programs! I have one - I recommend it. dB ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <== Professional Affiliations: Royer Labs • Music Player Network
synthfoolsynthfool.com
Encore may only sell you the midi retrofit. I don't know if they do restoration. For a place that can install the midi kit and restore the synth, you might try CAE Sound in San Mateo, CA. http://www.caesound.com
