Guest
Recently, I purchased the Unity DS-1 software sample playback software. The sound quality is very, very good and the ease of use is nothing short of fantastic. But, the MIDI timing is very poor. I'm not talking about latency.( To compensate for latency, I record a track with another sound from one of my hardware MIDI modules and then audition sounds from the DS-1 sampler, compensating for latency by shifting the track backward.) The timing problem I'm talking about has to do with poor triggering of even the simplest single note drum loops where the DS-1 plays back single note, quantized parts early or late or sometimes perfectly, then late or early again. The tech-support people at Bitheadz said the timing porblems are due to poor ASIO drivers for my Yamaha DSP Factory sound card and that they do not recommend using the DS-1 with the Yamaha DSP Factory card. Why would this audio card affect the MIDI timing of the DS-1 which is triggered by OMS ? Wow, this turned out to be a long question.
