Guest
I'm wanting to record some impulses in some spaces around town but I'm wondering how to position mic/speaker arrays to capture the room most accurately. I would like to record the impulse in 5.1 but I don't know if any software will do that yet. Also, should I have the speakers in stereo or a mono speaker (the sound would be coming from one place after all). Any texts you know of on this subject? Thanks
Guest
It sounds goofy, but one thing that works is popping a balloon. It's not the truest possible impulse, but it's a lot less directional than a speaker and it's easy 'n' fun.
Guest
A balloon pop will work nice for a regular impulse but 'd like to record the rooms sweep response. Any software that will allow this to be done in 5.1?
