Ani,

What I sent to Dan was just my BVOX (no music)

in the choruses & some Ahhs in the mid section...

Not really intended to be heard solo...

It'll be best auditioned "in situ"...

Thanks for the kind words, Dan...

I'm fairly self-critical of my voice,

but I do think the parts I did work

well for this tune...

Sorry Dan (and team), I haven't felt up to it so go ahead with the VOX you now have.

I've got to more weeks of injections. I'm ready for this to end.

Maybe we can put the entire SOMA Tabernacle Choir on a later cut.

Happy Holidays y'all!!!

Wrave,

I hope you get to feeling better soon; I know these meds are kicking your butt big time. I had another friend that shares the same ailment as you, and at that time, I did a lot of research about your affiction.

I'll be praying for a speedy recovery.

Thanks Brakka,

Don't forget that you're a part of our team too. Plus, it was by your suggestion that any of this came about. I must admit that I've been extremely proud to have been lucky enough to get such a great bunch of guys to work with. They're incredible.

Wow! An "unplugged" version. Good thought. I love this tune.

And Brakka, without a doubt, you are part of all that we've done. The "King of Web Communications"! Thanks for all your help.

I can't wait to hear Bob's vocal part added in.

Incredible Dan..... This is just BEAUTIFUL!!!! You did a very nice job on working out the flaws. Bob, great bvox to compliment my lead and Dan's bvox, also, I was listening to it tonight and the strings section was fanstastic. Brett........ where are you; I love your guitars... even with the rest of the instumentation???? Wrave, great harp part...

Dan, is this ready for the Mastering process, and if so, Bob, how soon??? I need to follow up with Debo.

SOMA??????? Are you ready for some air play, if 93.5 FM in NYC is still receptive to the master??? Brett????

Danny,

Yeah, I think the BGVs could come back a little...

I don't want to overpower the lead...

Maybe even leave mine out of the first chorus,

so that the other CHs feel like they build...

Or just pulling 'em back a tad may be enough...

Otherwise, sounds schweet...!

Ani,

After Dan uploads the wav, I can finish it off

and mail a CD to you to send to 93.5FM so that

you don't have to deal with a download & burn...

Or, if it's better for you, you could (e?)mail me

whatever cover letter, etc. that you're going

to include with the disc, and I could mail it

directly to the radio station from here...

Either way, should I put all

the SOMA cuts on the CD...?

If so, what order...?

If not, which ones...?

Love and Kisses,

I'll nudge the backing vocals down a tad tomorrow night, and post the wav.

I think I might leave Bob's and my high harmony out of the first chorus, and then bring both in for the last two.

If anyone has any critiques, now is the time. Don't be shy.

I think it would be worth trying to bring

in just your harmony (under the lead) for

the first chorus, but sort of "subliminally"...

Sometimes I'll do automated fade-ins that are

the entire length of (say) a chorus section...

Let's the sound just kind of sneak

into the realm of perception... ;)

Does that make any sense...?

I'll echo the fact that the first chorus sounds good with the bvox; can't imagine it otherwise. As Bob suggested, lowering the bvox just a bit would be good..... I don't want it taken out though.... I love the voices!!!

Also, Dan, can you change the title of this thread to "SOMA MEMBERS, Check in HERE" :D Brett may not realize that this is the thread is where the discussions have taken off.... I signed on with a new Hosting Company that offers live telephone Tech support for PHP forums, I'll probably get with Brakka after I get things switched over and see if he wants the paid for space on the other site. I'd rather pay the extra dollars and have the phone support... the newer site will be costing me per month what the other costs per year.... but if I like the tech support and ease of use, I may switch my official domain over as well.

Hopefully, after the Christmas rush at the Post Office I will have more time to concentrate on getting the forum back online.....

Bob,

That would be great if you want to do it that way. I don't mind sending the money your way for the postage and all. I think it would be best if we start with Answers in the Rain, then move to Howl's at the Moon, and the En Transit; if Soma's tunes are all that we intend to include on the CD mailed off.

I sent an email to Debo a couple of days ago, but have not received a response. May have blown that opportunity, unless we go ahead and follow through with a CD.... which I would want to coordinate with a personal telephone call to alert her as to the CD's predicted arrival. It's a win/lose situation now that we were not ready at the time of request.

However, I've been conversing recently with Moses Avalon and I will be providing some exposure for him on my site for a conference he has coming up in January. I might, in a friendship kind of way, opt to invite him to listen to our tunes in a non-chalant sort of way.... who knows... he is a prominent Music Attorney and Producer; and has accomplished quite a feat in the industry... may be able to put in a plug if he's receptive.

Ani,

I agree with whatever Dan just said...

Plus, I just can't view any aspect

of this project as win/lose...

If Debo doesn't want us anymore

(just because we spent the time to finish the track)

well then, ........ :P:P

If she does respond favorably,

then I bet she'll also champion the

"Leagues' CD" when we finish it...

It's all good...

(Dan, how do you say that in French...?)

Bob

PS - whazzup with The MixterRader...?
