Rim Posted September 2, 2002 Share Posted September 2, 2002 Actually, it is normal for drives to have errors and it should be caught at the factory. Some mfrs. actually list the errors on the drive label. Having said that, coming out of the factory, the end user should not detect a new bad sector for a while - at least a year or more. The hard drive you have either is going bad already or the mfr did not QA it long enough. Either way, yes, you should return it.
