ss Posted June 10, 2004 Share Posted June 10, 2004 I did compare Gretsch to Fab 4 but I can't rember if it was the Gretsch 120th. I know it was a Gretsch USA kit. Here's what happened...I got the Fab 4 and havent looked back! Of course veteren readers know what I think about my Ludwigs but let me tell you, this kit has been great and for the money I feel like I saved about a million dollars. To sum it up, I liked the Fab's hardware better and I couldnt find that true Ludwig sound in the Gretsch kit. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

ss Posted June 14, 2004 Share Posted June 14, 2004 I got the 20" kit in white marine pearl. My other kit is a Peal Export with a 22" kick so I was somewhat afraid to go with the 20". The Fab 4's bass is deeper, punchier and overall, better than my export. I'm really happy with my choice in drum sizes. As for heads I first tried the Evans g2 clears and ended up useing the coated for a warmer tone. My kick drum is equiped with the Evans EMAD.
