okay I rearly visit this forum, but I wanted you to know a few things,

first off this is not a new trick. I, as have others, been doing it for years.

you know how a power generator and an electic motor are really the same thing, .. only backwards to each other.

same thing with speakers and microphones.

all you need to do is wire a speaker to a preamp. vila..

you can use different speakers, and by placing a weight cone you can even alter its resposce.

its only good for low frequancy stuff, but you can do VERY low frequancy.

the top end sucks though, you still need a mic to capture that.

SO in the end say you want to mic a kick drum you can use a sm57 along with a speaker, .. then you can control teh top and low.

thanks all , I have nothing else to say.

But this device will quickly sound as good as your set up with out the extra time of positioning/tweaking. And on a consistent basis. Bottom line. There is a place for this device in the drumming, & engineering market.

It's candy. Doesn't mean it's bad, just means that in the wacky world of music gear, it's a superfluous expenditure, in my opinion.

I saw a demo at NAMM and it's nothing I can't do by triggering. And triggering gives you way more options.

Just for the record.
